34 Foot Ocean Dog 33 Yacht, 1988, classic lines, Moored in Spain Near Barcelona great Yacht!RELISTED DUE TO PREVIOUS WINNER PULLING OUT SIX WEEKS AFTER AUCTION ENDED. Welcome to the Auction of ‘CiMor’. She is an Iroko Hulled Long Keel Ketch , Steel Ballast Encapsulated within the keel with Oak bilge keels (Aerofoiled, doesn’t just sail sideways) , so essentially a triple Keel wooden Ketch.These were made at the Lowestoft Yacht building college. Around 60 of them were built to my knowledge, this is one of the later ones built in 1988. The official Name is a Reginald Freeman designed ‘Ocean Dog 33’. Many sea dog 30 boats were built but these were mostly fiberglass to my knowledge.I bought her in 2018 , restoring her with a practical view of more modern layouts in mind so her interior layout has been altered to accommodate a separate double bed aft of the main saloon, a galley down the Stb’d side where a bench seat used to be and a one piece Saloon Table that can drop to make a further queen size bunk, or if the table stays up one person can sleep comfortably along the bench seat. There is a separate aft cabin with two single berths, accessed via the central Cockpit. The heads are forward of the saloon in the fore peek, has a full size sink, pressurised cold water and a shower head. We never fitted a hot water system as we were intending to sail the med and the tank being next to the engine kept it ‘Comfortable enough’ She is generally a light and airy boat, very comfortable and safe in bad seas owing to the deep central cockpit, wooden ‘Dog House’ shelter and the long steel encapsulated keel.She weighs in at 15 tonnes, is 4 foot 6 inches deep and because of this we decided during our trip sailing Europe for a year last year that we’d take her through the French canals from Bordeaux to St Louis. She managed this fine with only the usual problems of mad tourist boat drivers to avoid and Lock Gates not working for no reason whatsoever.Mast and rigging are all in great condition, Proctor masts, all new standing rigging stays and some lines/Halyards in 2018 as a precaution. The Pro Furl Furler is working as it should, has a great Genoa that is often used in conjunction with only the Mizzen which makes for single handed sailing from the cockpit safe and easy.She is now moored in a Marina 4 miles from the City of Barcelona. Since the Outbreak she has effectively been stuck there and we are either looking to make a sale and secure her future in Spain or sail her back after the restrictions and will sell her in Southampton.
