John Teale designed steel hull motorsailor, ideal project for a future liveaboard, designed as a bluewater cruiser to go anywhere. The boat has only been in the water for 3 years, although the hull was professionally built by a ship yard in 1980, all original receipts and drawings for the hull build.Engine is a very good Perkins 4.236 75hp that runs perfectly, in need of a little cosmetic tidying and a little work on a temperamental starter motor but nothing serious, runs perfectly and is economical. Rig is a ketch, all useable and seems to sail well, as can be seen there is considerable foreward rake in the main mast, this will be fairly simple to remedy and was one of the first things on my list. all sails in good useable condition. Steel hull and superstructure in good condition with surface rust in a lot of areas, ideally she could do with painting with a modern paint system but there would be no rush to do this. Boat has just been antifouled, and 4 new anodes fitted before relaunching just a couple of months ago, she is now moored in Swansea marina. Vetus 75kgf bowthruster with brand new anode and propeller fitted just prior to launch (there is an issue with tripping out after a few seconds of operation, I don’t think its anything major) There are 2 new batteries on board including a high CCA Yuasa battery for engine starting. She has GPS Plotter, VHF Radio, Radar, Sonar (needs sorting, it works but not sure on the readings, or maybe I just cant use it correctly) Also included would be a 240v inverter and Mastervolt charging system that is to be fitted. The main area is the interior, it is useable but really needs completely redoing. That was my plan before things changed. We motor sailed her back to Swansea some 60 nautical miles in 30knot winds and she was rock solid, even when the sea got rough, she’s a proper little ship. Viewing is encouraged and indeed recommended at Swansea Marina, remember you are bidding to buy, not haggle at the end!!!. The tender in the photo is included together with the 2.5hp Marina 4 stroke outboard. My dream was to make this a liveaboard/ long term cruiser but circumstances haven’t worked out that way.Below are some videos showing her in action, happy to answer any questions.https://youtu.be/4rTIRSwhlgQhttps://youtu.be/avOBiqTIdtwhttps://youtu.be/b09yv5UfmOMhttps://youtu.be/kFMtLMPQ3G0£200 deposit at auction end via Paypal rest cash on collection. Mooring would I believe be available to transfer to new owner, cost is £266/Month.
