Canna, a nice example of the sturdy Achilles 24 sailing yacht built by Butler mouldings in Swansea. Canna was used in the Bristol Channel and then at Pembroke Dock before we bought her 5 or so years ago, she had a good amount of work done before we took her to the Orwell, she is now on my drive under a tarp on a good roadworthy dk2000 galvanised road trailer (new 2006, 4 new tyres 2016) and can be towed away. ****Trailer available with the boat by separate negotiation.****She’ll need a good clean and an antifoul but in theory she could go straight in the water, we bought a new depth sounder for her which is included and just needs fitting, she also could do with a new main sheet horse car as the shackle went but it will not hold you back if you can live with a bit of rope instead2015 We had the electrics updated and lights updated, some of the deck fittings re-seated and made proper woodwork repairs where needed especially to the rear locker areas and cabin, lockers repainted, nuts off keelbolts and resealed, hull repainted (same colour – all Achilles 24 hulls were painted as Butler used clear gelcoat on the hulls to reduce osmosis problems, deck is still original gelcoat antislip areas not painted yet), new graphics, new radio, bildge pump system looked at and new hoses etc, new cabin sole ply etc. Before we had her the cockpit was modified to take a larger presumbly 10hp 4 stroke engine and we had this work consolidated and tidied up a bit so all remains soundthe bedding/cushions, dodgers and companionway spray hood are original and show their age but still function and are ok, included is all the kit – running rigging, a good suit of sails, compass etc, auto helm, radio…etcBeing a boat there is always something to be done as she is getting on for being 40 years old soon and is still largely original. There is a 2 stroke 4hp engine that came with the boat that you are welcome to but it is a bit smokey and hasn’t been started in a few years. We used a 5hp 4 stroke which was all that was needed to push her along – that was better on the lungs and ears in the cockpit – but it is not included in the sale.I am happy to sell the trailer and the boat together if you want the whole outfit, the trailer is a very good one and worth the money, or I can just sell the boat if you don’t need the trailer. if you want the boat lifted into the water to sail away the nearest marina / port is Wisbech and it can be towed there. Please see photos, they are sturdy, nice looking yachts and she was one of the last to be built, the correct sail number is on the mainsail. Any questions please ask.
