We have owned Hecate for two years and have had a wonderful time on her, but due to work and family commitments the time has come for us to sell. In May we completed a 240 mile round trip down the south coast and back and she performed brilliantly and was very sympathetic to our somewhat inexperienced seamanship.
She last had a survey done in 2015 when most of the work was carried out on her. I believe she was being kitted out with a view to completing the O-Star race, trans Atlantic crossing, which is what she was designed for by Chris Butler back in the late 70’s.
She has a few scratches on her and is not quite as immaculate as she could be, but we found her wholly seaworthy and a joy to sail, and we spent two weeks living, fishing and cooking on her.
The picture of her out of the water is not mine and was taken of her prior to our purchase, presumably in 2015 when the re-fit was carried out.
The only fault I can find in her is two repairs in the main and the fore-sail UV strip has perished off recently. I have looked in to it and it’s actually cheaper to buy a second hand sail for 2-300 pounds than to have a new UV stitched on, we just haven’t got around to it.
By all means give me a shout on 07789961782 to arrange a viewing, she also comes with mooring fees paid for at least a month.
Best, Fin
