Fitted out by Hinks of AppledoreHull – solid GRP with clear gelcoat, white gelcoat above the waterline. Below the waterline, the hull was stripped back to the gelcoat in 2010. There were areas of high moisture content with some wicking visible, but no blistering was found. It was then coated with epoxy, followed by CopperPlus antifouling, some of which has since flaked off. The hull has now been repainted with primer and antifouling.Deck and superstructure – off-white gelcoat with balsa core, overpainted in recent years with International “Toplac”, which now needs re-painting. Non-slip areas were originally covered with “Treadmaster” sheeting, small areas of which had badly worn. This has all been removed and is awaiting renewal after repainting of the coachroof, etc.Ballast – cast iron, encapsulated.Woodwork – teak hatches, teak capping on the raised bulwark, teak windscreen surround, hand-rails and dorade boxes. Well executed internal woodwork in teak-faced ply and solid teak with pine carcasing.Deck Hardware – Stainless steel pulpit, stanchions, guardrails and pushpit with hardwood corner seats, stainless steel stemhead with twin rollers, large mooring bollards and fairleads, Lewmar genoa tracks and cars. Simpson Lawrence electric windlass, deck fillers for fuel, fresh water and pump-out. Stainless steel 3 part folding transom ladder. Lewmar deck hatch over galley area, stainless mushroom vents over heads. Solar-powered extractor fans in stainless domes in fore-hatch and lazarette hatch.Rig – Sparlight gold-anodised masts (tabernacle stepped) and booms. Mast steps to both masts. Stainless steel rigging renewed in 2005, Hood headsail furling gear with twin luff grooves. 2 Gibb genoa sheet winches, 2 halliard winches. Sails – white – in good condition with ‘stack-pack’ covers for main (Technique Voile) and mizzen.Engine – Mercedes OM314 4 cylinder 65 hp diesel engine fresh water cooled through heat exchanger, approx. 8000 hours. Regularly serviced and reliable. Top end overhaul 2005. Fuel consumption approx. 0.75 gals/hour at 1200rpm giving about 6 knots and 1000 mile range subject to conditions. . Borg Warner gearbox to shaft drive and 3-blade propeller. New cutlass bearing 2010. Morse engine single lever control. Shaft brake. Whitman rod steering with teak wheel. They stayed for four years going through the Islands to Venezuela, Columbia and Panama before returning to Spain. In 2002 they crossed the Atlantic again to Tobago and Trinidad before returning to the Canaries. In November 2005 they crossed to Tobago before returning to the UK.
