Sheldrake is a 20′ traditional classic wooden sailing yacht, designed by Norman Dallimore (google him) and built in 1935 in Anglesey. She is approx 20′ long, 7′ wide and 4′ deep and weight in the region of 5 tonnes – please note that all sizes and weights are approximate. She is currently out of the water at a boat yard near Tewkesbury on the River Avon and has been out of the water for several years. The bad news first – she has fantastic potential but needs considerable work. She is almost completely stripped out inside ready to be refitted however you wish. She was damaged in a flood and has some damage to the stem and the bowsprit fitting is missing. A small section of the pitch pine planking was rotten and has been removed. The mast was rotten but we have the standing rigging the boom and the bowsprit. She has a skin of concrete on the decks and coach roof which as applied by a previous owner. Ideally this could do with being removed. The corking between the planks has been partially removed and will need replacing. On a brighter note she has beautiful classic lines and could be a real head turner. The engine is a Dolphin 2 cylinder 2 stroke petrol engine with a stainless steel fuel tank. There are 2 sails (possibly 3 – can’t remember)She is currently under a contract with the boatyard until May 2020 and the monthly fees would become the new owners responsibility from the end of the auction. Please get in touch for more information and to chat it through on the phone.Auction only, no Buy it Now and no sale outside of eBay.
