Beneteau First 29 Lifting Keel (lake Windermere)

Advertised on February 15, 2021

LYON is a Beneteau First 29 with a lifting keel, she is in (in my opinion) excellent condition with only age related minor cosmetic wear, very little, nothing an afternoon attention wont solve, she has had her roof and side  linings completely replaced and the woodwork inside is in very good polished order, as is the rest of the interior, no holes cut out for retro fitted instruments or speakers or retro fitted lights, all complete and original, the only exception is the outlets for the heater. there is a good two burner stove/oven, stainless sink and large cooler box, plenty of storage and a lovely table wrapped around the mast support. The 29 is somewhat different than  her sister boat the 285, for one her inertia is larger and more sophisticated in comparison especially the aft cabin. Her topside is very clean with few age related gel scuffs, she will have (when lock down is over) new decals and the forehatch acrylic replaced (crazed at present) Also, she will be freshly antifouled before relaunch (post lockdown)Most of the running rigging was replace last year so everything runs well when under sail and is easily sailed singled handed all lines running aft genoa sheets going to self tailing winches. The past owners of this yacht including myself have been meticulous in her upkeep and maintained her regardless of cost, over the last six or seven years she has had many thousands of pounds spent on updating her, including new headlining throughout, costing in excess of £3000 (2016) and she looks great for it, two side gates were professional fitted to aid a disable previous owner,(2016)  they look great and work very well.. New solar panel with controller and a new twin battery monitor (2020) and recent batteries (2021). The spray hood was replaced in 2017The list is extensive, sails replaced by Jeckles (2008) the furling system replaced 2011 as was the standing rigging and the keel serviced and mechanism replace in 1998 survey says in good condition (2019)I have most if not all past receipts for the items and works carried out that I’ve reported. There is a recent (2019)  survey and it confirms all I’ve written as is available to persons who make offersThe price reflects the condition and extensive upgrades and maintenance, few boats of this age or design have been so carefully maintained.. There is some room for negotiation but not a lot, don’t rely on the survey giving you more room as there are no underlying faults reported, that said My 2.6 dinghy and Mercury 4hp outboard both in good condition can be negotiated into the price (being sold separately) as can a SSB galvanised Yard trolley (great condition and rare to get hold of).As is the way with me all the sails and cloth, covers etc are taken off the boat when she is decommissioned for the winter, all lines are either wrapped up and bagged and tied to the mast or ran out and stored within, she stands like this now, equally the engine is full of antifreeze and batteries removed, (actually replaced) any inspection can of course only be carried out post lockdown as will any viewing, I’ve not been able to take any internal pictures but will asap after lockdown. If you have any interest contact me via my email austinoldham@btinterenet.com or on the number provided 07921263197 please be aware that you should leave a message as I cant feasible use the phone during working hours   In 2020 upgrades includedCylinder head overhauled with new injectorsRaymarine ST1000+ tiller pilotNew Toilet PumpNew 80w solar Panel (as above)New acrylic wash boards plus existing wooden ones New diesel Heater, runs excellently, keeps the boat very warm and dry New Nasa Wind systemReplacement Furuno 32 GPS and New Cockpit GPS repeaterNew horseshoe and New DodgersNavigation instruments Serviced by  Nasa depth sounder and separate Log
