Rice Lake Traditional outboard/rowing skiff. Sure to be a very useful boat for fishing, rowing or just knocking about on the water. Very stable little boat will row well with up to three adults, or 4/5 children. Will take an outboard motor up to 5 horse power( not provided ) of not more than 50 lb of thrust.
The hull is stripped planked with western Red Cedar with Ash gunnels and stem, Thwarts are Western Red Cedar, stern and bow seats are Western Red Cedar.
inner and outer keels are of Ash with outer keel faced with brass rubbing strake. The hull inside and out coated with 6lb glass cloth and three coats of Epoxy, followed with 7 coats of varnish containing high levels of UV protection. 14 FT LONG, 4 FT beam at gunnels, 38 inch beam at water line. Displacement 400 LB. Weight 80/90 lbs.Stability factor= 169, this is a good stability level one of the highest. Weight capacity=18-600lbs. Hull fitted with two rowing stations plus two sets of rowlocks and three 8 foot six oars. There is no boat trailer with this boat so you will need your own to collect, or arrange a means of collection. I have been building water craft as a hobby for many years and have tended to over engineer whilst building where possible, and have used my builds for fishing and pottering about on the water, now old age(83) and infirmity prevents this, to this end it should be noted that I am unable help with any lifting that may be required on collection, I may be able get some help if really required.
