sale is my 19 foot Caprice ‘Pico’. Everything you need to get out on the
water! She’s small, so not too expensive to run and maintain and good fun to sail. A great boat for someone just getting into Coastal Cruising. The
same type of this classic yacht was famously sailed around the world by Shane
Acton and his voyage is described in the book “Shrimpy”.
She
is fitted with 2 sails in good condition; 1 main and a roller reefing genoa. Very cosy inside, with 3 berths – port and
starboard single berths for’ard and a port side single quarter berth. Berth cushions are in good condition.
A
Yamaha 5hp 2 stroke long shaft outboard, with charging coil, is included in the
sale. This engine has been professionally serviced annually and is in good
condition.

Pico is a very well-found small coastal cruising
yacht; clean, dry and homely. The Caprice has a deservedly great reputation for
their sea-kindliness, predictable handling and graceful manners, even in quite
tough conditions when other small boats at this size would be struggling. All in all, she is ready to launch and sail away.
She only draws approximately 2.5 feet (around 75cm) and being bilge keeled, is
perfect for shallow water river/creek exploration as well as coastal cruising. She has been cruised extensively around
Morecambe Bay and more recently has been on freshwater Lake Windermere.
