“IROKO” is a
beautiful 35 foot, Inchcape series, MFV-style boat, built in Eyemouth
1968. Very sturdy Iroko planking on
heavy oak beams. Economical and relaxed
120hp Sabre six-cylinder engine. Sleeps
5 (double in forecabin, fold down double and single in saloon). Currently
moored at Lochgoilhead on the Clyde.
Comfortable Living
in wheelhouse, saloon, forecabin – well equipped with Webasto hot water central
heating, 7kw mains generator, 4kw mains inverter, LED lighting and WiFi
throughout.
Wheelhouse with
skipper’s chair, chart table, comfortable seating for four or five, fan
assisted radiator, oars (for dinghy) and boathook stored on ceiling, brass barometer and

Classic Cruising
with furling genoa, mainsail and mizzen or under the power of the lusty but economical diesel engine (approx 1.5 gallons per hour at 6.5 to 7 knots or a gallon per hour at 4 to 5 knots). Equipment includes Garmin chartplotter, sonar, GPS, DSC radio, log, wind
speed/direction, compasses, searchlights, two anchors (80m chain), electric
windlass, Avon inflatable tender, bathing ladder, safety equipment,
etc.
Iroko Syndicate
Membership of the
Iroko Syndicate gives each of the four members a 25% (16/64ths) share of the
boat – fully registered with MCA – and 12 weeks use per year. The remaining four weeks of the year are
reserved for maintenance and twice-annual transit between the Clyde and Oban.
Annual Sailing
Schedule
Spring and Summer on
the West Coast (Cruising area from Islay in the south to Loch Inchard in the north and Fort William in the east to the Outer Hebrides or even St Kilda in the West)*
One 3-week period
PLUS one 2-week period between May and September in accordance with the agreed Syndicate year planner.
Autumn and Winter on
the Clyde (Cruising area from Greenock to Ayr to Mull of Kintyre plus all the sea lochs, kyles and sounds in between)*
One 2-week period
PLUS one 1-week period between early October and late Decemberandtwo 2-week periods,
between New Year and Mid April all in accordance with the agreed Syndicate year planner.
(Actual dates change
each year on a four-year rolling rota so, over four years, each owner will actually enjoy
every week of the year.)
* Extended cruises are possible subject to the co-operation of fellow members.
A 10% holding deposit is required within 7 days of a successful bid.
