This boat was built in 1917 in Milford Dock of pitch pine on steamed rock elm, iron fastened and with a cast iron external ballast keel. She has lovely pilot cutter lines and may have worked out of Milford.
I bought her 30 years ago from a field in Worthing in a very poor state, with no deck and completely unseaworthy. Over the following years the hull has been completely rebuilt. New oak stem, apron, stem and stern knees, grown floors, horn timbers on her original keel, sternpost and ballast keel. She has new steamed oak frames and is re-planked in pitch pine. Most of the planks are full length. She’s fastened with copper and silicon bronze. The ballast keel now needs to come off and be re-bedded. She has new pitch pine deck beams fitted but not fastened.
She is resting in a steel cradle.
She has been under cover for the last 30 years and is in excellent condition.
I have the original mast, boom, gaff and bowsprit. I also have most of the hanging and lodging knees, some grown, some laminated and a lot of other original or period gear.
She is lying near Gweek, Cornwall and can be inspected at any time.
I can recommend a haulier who will deliver her to any part of the country.
