COMPAC 16 (2/3) Bermudan sloop with ROAD TRAILER £2750.American built trailer sailer built to a very high standard and in overall good condition .She has a 6′-11″ long cockpit which I think could easily be converted to provide a large sleeping area. In addition she has two 8′ berths in the cabin fitted with memory foam/ foam cushions. With a displacement of 1100 lbs. and total towing weight 1480 lbs.she is easily towed. The shoal draft (18″) keel which carries 40% of the total displacement gives the stiffness and feeling of a much larger yacht. The standard rigging is stainless steel. The sails comprise two main (both in excellent condition- in fact one appears unused ) – one is of a heavier weight material. A jib also in excellent condition and with reefing gear.As there is sometimes confusion as to what is meant by overall length please note the following from the Builders specification:LOA. 16′ 11″. which includes the short cathead.LWL 14′-0″.I have described the boat as a 2/3 version simply because I can’t find any documentation relating to the boat other than an original sales brochure for the 3. I was also advised that various improvements relevant to the later version were also on this boat. so I suggest you trawl the ‘net and form your own opinion !She is fitted with the electrics package ( navigation lights, cabin light, switch panel and battery ). An echo sounder was originally fitted to the boat but was removed by a previous owner and the hull made good. The sounder is included in the sale but as I can’t test it it’s sold “As Seen”.There is also space for a Portaloo (not provided).Included in the package and in addition to anything mentioned above are the following:Anchor, chain and warp.Cockpit over boom camping tent.Compass.Battery Excellent road trailer with spare wheel. Recently had bearings replaced and brakes overhauled and adjusted Outboard bracket.Stainless steel boarding ladder.A very comprehensive owners manual.NOW FOR THE BAD BITS!At some time in the past I understood she rode up over her mooring which resulted in cosmetic damage to each side of the hull at the bow ( below the waterline ) and also to the leading edge of the keel. The owner at the time attempted a repair which left a lot to be desired regarding the finish but achieved it’s main purpose of protecting the underlying g.r.p.Unfortunately because it’s ‘white on white’ it’s proved difficult to photograph to give an accurate idea of the ‘repair’ . Some photos show it worse than it is, others the reverse . Photos don’t lie but they can mislead so it’s best for you to come and see for yourself. The affected area really needs rubbing down and re- gel coating properly. There are a couple of other areas which would benefit from attention e.g re- making good to the areas where the original stanchion posts were located and the usual light marks commensurate with a boat which appears to have been well looked after.PLEASE NOTE There is no engine included however one may be available. The builders recommend a 3 /4 horse power standard shaft outboard Regarding the price , I’ve tried to make some allowance for the condition of the gel coat as mentioned above so I think the asking price is reasonably realistic. However I am prepared to consider close offers but only from those who are prepared to come and see the boat. Please contact ( Tel. 01258 880419) me for further information / photos / arrangements to view. .evenings are bestIf there’s no reply PLEASE leave a message and contact number on the answerphone and I’ll get back to you a.s.a.p. U.K buyers only.
