Reluctantly selling Red Swan, my Elizabethan 23. She is solid, has beautiful lines and comes with a Yanmar 1 GM10 inboard engine (see below). She has a long keel (approx 2.5 feet draft) and swing keel that extends the draft to 5 feet. I bought her in 2016, had her surveyed and have done some upgrades (with receipts). I have described, as best I can what needs doing to get her ready again. She sits on a trailer in a (friendly) boat club on the Medway that has a slip to launch/move to another location (yard fees paid up to date).Good bits:Solid hull and deck with no obvious issues (surveyed Dec. 2016)New standard rigging (2017)New running rigging (2017)Mainsail and jib refurbed (2017)Spare jib, good conditionNew Cobra Marine DSC VHF radio (2018)2 batteries, engine starter and dual (new in 2017), Origo spirit stove (2017)Sink Jabsco sea toilet New 100 litre water tank (this is on the boat but needs to be fitted under quarter birth)Cabin cushions in good/fair condition – one needs to be replaced but it is for the starboard quarter birth that is an area mainly used for storage. What needs doing:* The engine will need to be serviced and the raw water inlet looked at. It had been running well but after pressure washing she developed an over-heating problem (as it happened immediately after I’d pressure washed the hull, I suspect this accidentally forced something up the raw water inlet and blocked the pipe)* The steel swing keel has become stiff and needs to be freed up, this happens to swing keels and I freed it up before but the plate/keel slot needs to be dropped out and properly cleaned up. * The trailer is steel and wood (with a new jockey wheel) but some of the wood support shifted when I last took her out of the water. When she goes back in, the trailer wood will need a bit of TLC.* The electronics (depth, distance, log etc) could do with upgrading. * She’ll need to be antifouled – there is half a tin in the stern locker that will do the hull and there is a small amount of the red topside paint (Toplac Rochelle Red) – enough to touch up.* Wood work could do with a rub down and varnishWhat else she comes with:2 Harken self tailing jib winchesMainsheet winch (on mast)ST1000 autohelm – this came with the boat when I bought her, the previous owner said it worked fine but I’ve not used it as prefer my hand on the tiller! (I can send separate photo if you need to see it)Various accessories, warps, boathook, life belt, two CQR type anchors, four fenders, 1 manual (Whale) pump and 1 electric bilge pump2 spray hoods – one small cuddy type, seen better days and needs a good clean/some patching of the tarp and one larger one in fair condition.Solar panel for charging batteries (glass has some cracks but worked in 2018).Thank you for looking – feel free to ask any questions – good luck.
