Endurance 35 Long Keeled Ketch
Professionally built by Windboats
Originally named “Suk Hati” and under the original ownership cruised extensively overseas.
Constructed in Ferro cement (Seacrete) by Windboats with marine ply decks and pilothouse coach-roof fiberglass (Cascover) sheathed.
Although unconfirmed I have been informed that these yachts were built to Lloyds 100A1.
A small piece from Windboats marine website history below;
“The company continued building and fitting out Seacrete vessels for both pleasure and commercial use, including the well-known range of Endurance yachts. In 1983 the company moved into GRP yacht production with the start of a long association with Oyster Marine, one of the world’s top marques in luxury yachts.”
Designed by Peter Ibold.

Rename “Rock and Roll” and berthed in Liverpool she sank overnight for an unknown reason although I have my suspicions how this happened.
Following the sinking the boat was lifted from the dock and with engine drained and refilled with oil was started and run and had no issues. The masts were still standing but with the port upper shroud parted at deck level the mast was not completely upright.
I purchased the boat and had it transported to Faversham and started repairs.
The hull had been damaged on the starboard side at the waterline, probably by being struck with a work barge in the dock, which is the most likely reason for the sinking. The damaged ferro was removed the mesh straightened and then repaired using sand cement and pozzolan, as the original mixture. I have retained some samples of the mix as used on the patch.
More damage was done during recovery than in the sinking, with the bowsprit being broken, the Pulpit bent and the mizzen base being damaged. The port side mizzen upper shroud was damaged and needs replacing, and the deck was split on the port quarter where a cleat was torn out. The hydraulic rudder drive has been separated at the rudder and requires welding.
Additionally, the access hatch was broken open and lost during recovery, the steering wheel damaged and the instruments flooded. I have removed and dried out all the instruments, but these are now quite dated.
The bowsprit timber has been replaced and needs to be relocated. The mizzen base area has been repaired and waterproofed with glass fibre as has the damage to the port quarter deck.
I had the starter motor rebuilt as it had been flooded, but this needs refitting and there is a new starter relay.
I have replaced the oil and run the engine a few times with a temporary fuel supply as fuel tank has not been touched and may contain polluted fuel.
I have done some painting of the interior deckhead etc but the interior needs work including some rewiring and new electrical fittings contaminated in the sinking. The steering wheel needs replacing as again this was somehow damaged in recovery.
There is a section of deck in the front corner near the starboard raised coach roof which is soft and needs replacing.
The bedding and cushions were all dried out but deteriorated too far and were disposed of.
Full set of sails and the standing rigging is stainless steel.
There is a solid fuel heater installed which will keep you very snug in the winter.
The Bronze propellor was stolen while stored in the yard but I have procured two replacements with different pitches which I have at home.
I have purchased a new cooker which is on the boat but needs installing.
I have a large history file and workshop manuals for engine and other equipment.
Current Price: £7500.00
