DescriptionLa Jarita is a fine example of this well built and highly regarded Fisher 25 blue motor sail boat. Lloyds registered, and insured for 28,000 pounds, our boat cruises at around 5-6 knots under power from its new Bukh marine engine and gearbox installation and it also sails very well with its Genoa, main sail and mizzen sail. Whilst not the sportiest boat to sail its solidity makes it stable in any sea with a weight of around 4.54 tons. Its crowning glory is a wheel house that 4 people can sit or stand in when the weather is foul. No messing around outside in the cold and wet in expensive Henri Lloyd waterproofs!
There are 5 berths but we only used 4 and it makes great weekend accommodation for 4 with standing room down below as well as good seating, dining and cooking facilities.
We have owned this boat since 2014 and have carried many useful jobs whilst enjoying ownership. The main work includes:-Installation of a new 24 bhp Bukh engine fitted in 2017. The engine has only done 35 hours since then.
Installation of upgraded engine control panel. Installation of NASA depth sonar.Installation of a new Eberspacher heater system.Installation of new carpets.
We are only the third owners of La Jarita – originally registered in Southampton in 1977. Keith the first owner had her for 30 years, then John, who we bought it from 5 years ago and now us. I bought it as my dream boat, with my wife and two friends. We have had great fun, but the three of them are not sailors and don’t like leaving the Deben so I only get to sail out to sea a few times a year. They would like to sell their shares so as a ¼ owner – she has to go.
The boat is currently moored in the Deben at Waldringfield, Suffolk and soon will be lying out of the water, on its own cradle, in the boat yard for detailed inspection. Viewings are welcome as are discussions on the prime mooring there held by my family for over 25 years!AccommodationForward cabin with V-berth with infill, cold water supply, storage lockers. Ladder up through hatch to foredeck. Door to saloon with settee to port, L shaped settee with good size dining table. This settee converts to a double berth. The navigation table/storage cupboard to starboard can convert into a 5thsingle berth. Galley to starboard and heads compartment port side with sea toilet and sink. Steps up to wheelhouse with helm to port and two double seats. Door to port at rear deck out to open rear with seating for 4 and a table to dine outside on.
• Two ring gas stove with grill and oven• Blown hot air Eberspacher heating system• Masses of storageNavigation and other equipment. Mostly unfitted and in a very large box in my garage! (radar, 3 vhf radios and a bewildering array of old instruments – none of which we used.Still fitted is a autohelm chain driven autopilot which was is linked to other, now removed systems with old school radar, ships log systems and a host of other early 80’s electronics.
I use the excellent fitted compass, traditional charts and the depth sonar for the tricky navigation around the east coast.
For a GPS plotter I use an android tablet and the most excellent software from MarineNavigator app and Android charts from visitmyharbour.co.uk. That is really as complicated a wheel house ever need be!Sails and riggingMain sail plus mizzen. No 1 Genoa plus a spare.Main sail and mizzen coversTwo Lewmar winchesEngine and equipment
New Bukh marine engine and gearbox installed 2017 (35 hours). The old Volvo MD11 lasted 40 years but this is superior in many ways – one of which is that it has a water to water intercooler meaning the cooling for the engine is sealed from the river water! Price arrived at by looking at other 25’s over the last year and positioning condition wise. She actually cost us 26,000, (insured for 28,000) and we have spent way over 10K (new engine, gearbox etc.) in getting her up to the current standard and whilst all the big expense is done, there will always be cosmetic fettling to spend more – as to your wish. No part exchanges wanted due to the shared ownership and yes close offers will be considered.
Current Price: £26000.00
