For sale is our lovely little Gaff Yawl.
She is a very pretty little boat and always attracts lots of
compliments.
Photos were taken last summer.
She was built by her first owner based on the Whisstocks 077
pocket cruiser design.
Here’s some description from their website:
She is a remarkably robust and sea-kindly small cruising sailboat.
Construction throughout uses WEST™ system (or similar) boatbuilding
epoxies for bonding, and epoxy coating and encapsulation, resulting in a
strong, lightweight structure with minimal maintenance.
The full-length cockpit is roomy, well-protected and comfortable, and
can provide two additional full-length berths with a tent over the boom if
wished. The locker lids have deep gutters; the companionway is secure and the
main hatch slides into a hatch box for watertightness. The outboard engine is
mounted in a well in the cockpit, giving convenient reliable performance under
power. It is not easily flooded even in heavy following seas – and the vessel’s
balance and steering is not compromised in any way.
Down below, accommodation is for three, with full length comfortable
berths and a simple galley.
The rig is quickly set up. She has a fairly large sail area for her
displacement, which gives excellent light weather performance. In heavier
weather, the yawl version goes to windward well under mizzen and staysail,
rather than a deeply reefed main. The boat has a bolt-on lead ballast keel for
stability at sea and a cast centreboard to give good up-wind performance. There
is additional inside ballast for more challenging conditions.
The boat has been stripped and re varnished / repainted in 2019 and
2020. Multiple coats of:
· Rustins yacht
varnish.

Woodskin on the teak
· 2 X Hempel primer and
marine paint on hull and decks
· 2 X Hempel antifoul
primer and racing antifoul suitable for trailer sailers
· Hempel Anti slip deck
paint in grey.
The sails are in excellent condition with the jib being on a Furler.
She comes with a very recent 5HP Honda outboard and separate fuel tank.
She is stored on her trailer. The trailer is usable and has 2 recent tyres and new jockey wheel but would benefit from some TLC and could probably be set up better to help launch and recovery.
She is located near Lechlade on the Cotswold Water Park.
