Length Overall, Seamaster Sailer 19, 1978.This is a pocket cruiser, designed by Laurent Giles. The vessel would make a relatively simple project. A 2008 Survey One survey is available for the boat. There is a heavy cast iron keel incorporating a cast iron centreplate operated using a winch in the cockpit. The keel is quite long and gives good stability and directional tracking. The centreplate was professionally repainted by New Horizons boat builder in Rhu in October 2012. Sails original, but usable, believed made by Ratsey and Lapthorn, main (77sq ft) with sliders, hank on No 1 foresail (110 sq ft),and no 2 foresail, storm jib and Genoa. Mainsail cover.Bow anchor (CQR with c.15 fathoms of chain), stainless steel roller forelead, stainless steel standing rigging, rigging screws. Running rigging. Seatoilet (not working) with sliding sink above. Galley space (new cooker needed). Four berths, two in main cabin (with additional storage space at foot) and two in forepeak, fully lined cabins, hanging locker. 10 gallon fresh water tank. Pulpit, pushpit, guard wires, Manual bilge pump. Spray dodgers, Cockpit lockers, and storage below bunks. Fenders, Warps, Depth sounder – Advansea Depth S400. Headroom in main cabin, 5’2″. Draft (centreplate up) 2’6″, (centreplate down) 5’6″.The mast is deck stepped in a tabernacle and can be raised or lowered using the spinnaker pole and the trailer winch. The iron rudder blade lifts up. A new rudder blade will be needed soon. The boat was last in the water on Loch Lomond in 2017. She was kept on a summer mooring on Loch Lomond for about 3 or 4 years up to then and wintered ashore. She has been on my drive for the past three and a half years. Some work is needed in addition to the rudder work to bring her to sailing condition – windows need re-bedding, some stanchions need re-bolting, the lowest rudder gudgeon needs replacing, and the tiller needs tightening. Internal woodwork is mahogany, but the varnish needs attention. Standing and running rigging and sails are due for replacement soon. The 2012 echo sounder, stern light, and two cabin lights work. Port and starboard lights have been replaced but their wiring needs attention. The trailer was bought new in summer 2008, and cost over £2000 from Indespension in Milngavie, who also adapted it for a keelboat. The bearings have been only a few times in fresh water since the last service which was 2012. The trailer has been lightly used, locally around Helensborough, Paisley and Loch Lomond. A 4HP Sailmate Longshaft Mariner outboard may be available by separate agreement. It was new in 1996, fully working, not been used since last serviced by Mitchell outboard services in 2018. We have made great family memories with Katy. I’m now retired and no longer need the boat. I’d like her to go to someone who will enjoy her and look after her. She is a strongly built boat and basically very sound. A copy of manufacturer’s brochure is available for prospective buyers. A Seamaster plate on the bulkhead gives her number as 299. Third party delivery using the trailer can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.
