Mahogany Clinker Sailing BoatBought from the Trinity House School Nautical College in hull about 20 years ago for a boatbuilding project, but never started. It has been in the back of our boat store ever since and we need the space.The boat is believed to be a wooden version of the Admiralty Sailing Craft, or ASC dinghy widely used by Sea Cadets all over the country. The boat, called ‘Trafalgar’, is approximately 16ft 6in x 6ft 8in with a deep hull and rounded transom. She is built of heavy, high quality mahogany clinker planks with steam bent ribs, varnished outside and painted white inside. The boat comes with a substantial metal drop-keel or centre plate, and a wooden rudder. We are checking to see if we have a mast, but are not sure if one came with the boat.The boat has a fault in the keel where it appears to have decayed in a short section and requires a specialist repair. Apart from that the boat seems in very good condition for having been laid-up inside for many years.
