1970 Huitema Zeeschow 8.4mts – all steel ‘Sailing’ Canal Boat. 27hp Yanmar engine. The boat is in good condition for its year with sails that were new when I bought her and have never been used. The galley has a good electrolux fridge and a two ring gas burner near the sink. I have owned her for 10 years but unfortunately she has been laid ashore in France for nearly 7, due to my work commitments. I have maintained her and have kept her in very reasonable condition there are only a few bits and pieces to be done to bring her back to her gorgeous old self. I lived aboard her for 2 years on the Canal du Midi and have always wanted to do that again, hence why I have kept her for so long, but unfortunately that dream has proved difficult to realize. This is a reluctant sale and I hope that special someone is out there to enjoy her and care for her as much as I have. She is a lovely old boat with bags of character and very comfortable to live on for one or two people. She is well insulated and warm in the winter. It is quite easy to obtain a permanent mooring via the VNF should anyone be interested. She is lying in Grau’d Agde near Beziers in the South of France. Lots of Ryaniar flights to Beziers! The boat is not in the UK. The engine was always a dream to run and I don’t anticipate any problem there, the hull has been well looked after and has had two coats of good metal primer just ready now for the antifoul. The decks have had a few rust spots attended to and now only need to be painted. I will be at the boat between 4th and 7th of June for viewings. The nearest airport is Beziers.
