Strong, dependable, good looking well kitted small yacht, bilge keels with an outboard in a well (Tohatsu 6hp 4 stroke with external tank – reliable motor)
Fully registered boat and VHF etc
I am planning to move to a slightly larger boat, but will be sad to leave this old girl. I have spent quite a lot of time and money on updating her over the last 2 years.
She is currently afloat in Southampton, I live some way away and will shortly be moving her to Emsworth yacht harbour for the winter (again afloat). I am happy to show around potential serious buyers but at a 3 hour round trip it will need to be organised well in advance. I can be available for any viewings at her current mooring at the top of the Itchen this weekend.
A perfect starter boat. She is not the fastest sailing boat but will keep you safe and seems very strong. I have not been out in heavy weather but they reportedly can handle this if problems arise. I have sailed her extensively around the solent and the Isle of white, frequently single handed.
Theoretically a 4 berth but everyone would need to be very friendly. 2 adults down in the cabin makes it feel quite crowded!
V berth at bow with new plastimo water tank fitted beneath holding 30+ L; I have fitted a wooden mast support (although no real evidence of failure in the mast base – just my paranoia!)
I replaced the residual thru hulls and valves in 2017, I also removed the sea toilet holes as I like to have minimal holes in a boat I am sailing!.
New mainsail 2018, nearly new genoa 2018, variety of other older sails also included. New lazy jack and bag fitted 2018.
Electronic autopilot attaches to tiller; halyards and reefing lines led back to cockpit for single handed sailing.
Electrics have been updated throughout with new wiring to LED lights ; New battery 2018.
New Nasa Clipper Duet fitted 2019 (the speedo doesn’t work at the moment – I think because of mud in mechanism)
Fitted Cobra VHF with DSC, New Matsutec GPS and AIS transponder/receiver fitted last year.
New galley area made on port side 2018/19
New unused portapotti toilet fitted on port side.
Single burner portable gas stove
I will include a couple of life jackets, Safety floats, flares etc
2 anchors – larger at the bow and smaller stern anchor with an easy ‘chuck over’ system for urgent use.
Potential problems / things to address…..
The perspex windows are crazed but not a bad thing if sitting in a marina! – they do not leak
The standing rigging seems bulletproof but the turnbuckles could be reviewed; running rigging could be renewed soon although all seems ok at the moment.
The rubbing strakes wood is getting on and has been patched, more work needed here sometime.
She will need a scrape / wash off soon
It is a relatively old boat and part of the joy of these boats is the maintenance – however I think you will have solid craft.
Sale will need to be completed within 2 weeks; I think you will be able to keep her at her current pontoon mooring if you so wish but that would need to be by separate negotiation with the marina. I’m also very happy to take any buyer out for an initial sail or help move it locally (weather permitting)
Current Price: £3200.00
