HURLEY MARINE SILHOUETTE MKIII 1968 Reinforced Plastic Yacht / Fibreglass Sloop Sailing BoatThis was my Dad’s boat. It has not been sailed in over 10 years and has sat on a trailer.Personally, I don’t know much about boats but as it is fibreglass I’ve been told and I can see that the hull is basically sound although dirty. After rain the hull holds water so it appears that there are no holes / leaks. There is a mast and boom (see background of photo 4) but no sail, rigging, motor or anchor etc. The boat was originally built for an outboard motor but my Dad cut a hole ready to install an inboard motor (see photo 11). I have stripped off most of the rotten timber but kept the plywood benches to provide stencils for restoration.This is the original marketing brochure: http://soia.org.uk/technical/SIII_brochure.pdfThe boat is located in mid Wales between Brecon and Llandovery. It is on a trailer which is not road worthy. So please bear in mind you will need to have a suitable towing vehicle with trailer or low loader. But the goods news is that it is located right next to a public road so loading shouldn’t be too difficult.
