Check out the history of these boats. It has a bilge keel. The idea the designer had was a small seaworthy yacht that he could sail with his grandson. He used to have an open boat and camp on the beach, but he got fed up of that. He wanted to be able to land on a beach wait for the tide to go out and go ashore, so that he didn’t have to pay harbour fees. The small cabin meant no more camping on damp beaches. Some of these boats have done amazing blue water journeys. The 3 sails are in good condition. The main has a roller reefing system, the sail is wound up around the boom. I have sailed this on every coast of the country but due to lack of crew this year I have decided to sell. Make no mistake, it does need TLC, but this would make a great boat for beginners or anybody deciding to downsize. It is possible to launch and recover alone, but it is much easier with another person. I have never felt in danger on this boat even in a force 6. I tow the boat with my small bongo van without any problems. Please note that there is no outboard. The trailer follows the van beautifully. It has braking and I believe it is galvanized.
