Iroquois MK1 Catamaran for sale.Sundance is sail number 68 of the Sail Craft Iroquois and was first sailed approx 1968-1970, and has a rich documented history having been modified by one of its owners back in the 80s.The main modifications where to the two aft cabins to increase the height inside. Also added where extra stern lockers and effectively moved the engine inboard. This makes the cockpit more enclosed and very safe to move about in.She has been in my ownership since 2016 and spent 2017 in the water sailing around the south of England. She is now out of the water having had some hull work done and a spring clean. the decision to sell is a hard one, as I have spent considerable money on her over the last couple of years; but ill health along with work commitments and family means giving her a new home with an owner who can get her back in the water. In the last year, she has had a new Yamaha 9.9 high thrust extra long leg engine fitted. I have original receipt and warranty from the purchase of the engine. New halyards including spares in locker. New mooring lines, new anchor rode (chain and rope) 2X anchors included.New wiring and electrical panel, 2 automatic bilge pumps (switches need mounting but all wiring done) NASA wind instrument included but needs installing.Included on-board are Grid Compass, Auto Pilot (Raymarine ST. 1000+) V.H.F, LDG, Echo Sounder, G.P.S and 6 man offshore life raft.Inside the cabin roof lining has been replaced over the main saloon, the aft cabins would welcome a refresh but had mainly been used as storage for us. The kitchen area is clean and usable, as is the cooker. My partner and I spent a week living and cruising on-board in comfort. The only downside for me is the headroom over the bridge deck being sitting height only. The hulls are full standing room though making cooking and using the head easy enough. We converted the table into a nice sized bed instead of using the cabins. Sails & Rigging: North sails, slab reefing main & roller genoa sail n.o M1 Sails are old but are usable. Standing rigging is in good condition and all chain plates are clean with no corrosion visible. Chain plates are visible external to the hulls for easy inspection. Deck hardware we have an Andersen Scandinavian 28 self tailing S/S sheet winch and Gibb7cr halyard winchShe could do with a sanding and new paint on both the hull and deck, but other than that Sundance is a very usable yacht with lots of potential. Currently the only job needing to be finished before launching, would be to replace the rudder boxes. The rudders just slide up and down when needed, but the boxes are a bit rotten and will need remaking. I have the measurements to make new ones and if I have time I was looking to make them ready for the sale. With the boat in Plymouth and me being in South Wales I may not get down in time to do the work. Being an old boat she needs a little TLC, but the Iroquois are a seriously solid boat. They where built to last and are very good in the water.Current storage costs are £145 a month which will need to be taken on by the new owner. Moorings are available at a lower cost but will need to be negotiated.
