Here is an opportunity to buy a value for money sailing yacht with a good pedigree and plenty of life left in it.I took over ownership of this boat recently from someone who had hoped to learn to sail and enjoy “living the dream!”Despite spending a considerable amount of money on her in 2015/6, (I have receipts for work carried out in excess of £12,000) he rarely had any opportunities to use the boat, and sadly, she sat unused on a swinging mooring for the last two seasons.Work undertaken by a reputable local boatyard in 2015 included stripping the underside of the hull back to grp, epoxy coating, priming and antifouling. They stripped the upper decks and fitted new tread pattern. The keel and rudder were refurbished, epoxyed, faired and new bearings fitted. The interior was re-panelled in gloss black and white wood veneer, not to everyone’s taste, but cosmetics can be changed easily to a new owners preference. At the same time, two new batteries were fitted along with an electric battery monitoring system and screen, some new interior led lighting, and a new Raymarine a67 chart plotter and fish finder sonar. A new automatic bilge pump and electric fresh water pump were also fitted. The engine, (which was replaced in 2009 by a new Beta 10hp diesel unit), had been in commission and serviced.A local leading upholstery company renewed all the interior seating and mattresses, along with curtains, exterior cockpit cushions, spray dodgers and a mainsail boom cover. At the point I took over, she was looking a bit shabby and tired, and I immediately started a recovery program that is still in progress. The hull underwater was inspected and pressure washed and is in remarkably good condition. I will antifoul and renew hull anodes tomorrow. The engine wouldn’t start. The starter motor has been reconditioned, the engine serviced back into commission and is now purring away, starting easily and charging the battery bank at 100%All the through-hull seacock fittings for main engine and sea toilet will be replaced in the next few weeks. The foresail had been left on the roller reefing forestay and was in poor condition. It is repairable and I’ll leave it on board, but as I think repair is not the best option now, I have today purchased an excellent condition used sail for £400 so the boat will be ready to go.The remaining sail set is in good shape and includes the mainsail, a large red/gold spinnaker sail, and a smaller storm jib.The mast has been unstepped today, and I have commissioned a full renewal of all the standing and running rigging. This should be completed by mid June, by which time I hope to have a buyer waiting to take over!I already have a boat of my own, and am only using my knowledge of local skills and services to get this boat back up and running and in the hands of someone who can really make the most of it.It is advertised elsewhere, and I will sell early to the right person. I will not sell to anyone who wants to buy on spec. You need to see the boat and communicate with me so that I know your interest is serious. My asking price is for the boat with all the above jobs completed, but I may also have completed other cosmetic improvements and repairs that will be included in that price. If I was keeping the boat myself, I would consider further electronic installation improvements, new distribution boards, extra lighting, diesel blown air heating, electric flush toilet and designing and fitting a saloon dining table/bed base. A new owner could discuss any further modifications with me and cost them out.If you wish to keep the boat in the Chichester Harbour area, 2018 harbour dues are paid, but a mooring will need to be secured and paid for.

Current Price: £6750.00
