A few photos – it’s a bit dark out in the barn. I bought the boat from someone in Bedfordshire that had just sailed her on a lake. I sailed her out of Banff for a couple of years and put her in the barn as the marina was being closed and she’s stayed there. I didn’t cover her and although the barn is nice and dry, there are pigeons in the barn from time to time…I took the opportunity to repair some small areas of damage in the gelcoat and to antifoul her. The rudder had a split as the steel core was rusting. I’ve replaced that and added an anode that’s connected to the rudder and steering rod (see photo). She has a wiring set up for two batteries and a wind generator. You can see one of the red battery boxes in a photo. I took the windows out to replace the perished seals. I have the new seals and old windows but never got round to it. The four sails are there. The main is on a roller. There is new standing rigging (in photo). The project is mainly cosmetic, she’s just dirty and she should clean up well. The boat is stern loading. The trailer is solid. It isn’t braked but has a handbrake and is on leaf springs. The inner and outer wheel bearings were replaced about 500 miles ago and I checked them last week and they are fine (see photo). The tyres were replaced just before it was laid up and are still inflated and aren’t perished (see photos) – it has been out of the weather and the sun. I towed the trailer and it moves fine.
