Good morning, Here is the action for my much loved Lesiure 23SL Sail Boat. She was built in 1980, the Lesiure 23SL is a 23 foot bildge Keel boat with renowned internal layout and sailing ability. She has been my first boat and I have loved sailing her up and down the River Crouch in Essex. She is easy to handle with a crew or single handed. I regularly sail by myself or with my 12 year old son who has really developed his confidence in sailing because the boat is easy and safe to sail. I’m only selling her to fund a move to a bigger boat. Layout – 5 berths with a double V berth forward, the dining table converts to a double with a single quarter berth. Fully gimballed 2 ring gas cooker and grill. Heads are in the front cabin but can be made seperate and private by the use of the cabin door. Galley with cold water hand pumped supply from a new water bag located under the V berth. Equipment – She comes with mainsail cover, spray dodgers, tiller cover, hand held GPS, compass, Depth gauge, wind direction, hand held wind speed meter, tiller tamer, Plough anchor with about 10m of chain and 6m of warp, Spinnaker pole, boat hook, morning lines (New) Fenders of various sizes and colours, Hand held VHF, flag and pole plus many other miscellaneous items such as plates, cups etc. Mechanical – She has a Honda 8hp outboard engine which has proved to be very reliable. I recently replaced the pull start with a new one. Fuel tank holds about 20 litres and gives massive motoring range if needed at 5 knots. The battery is charged from a solar panel mounted on the coach roof. Sailing Ability – The Lesiure 23SL is a well proven yacht which handles most conditions well. She points surprisingly well and I have had great fun sailing downwind with the head sail poled out. I have personally been out in a force 7 which was lively to say the least!!. Mainsail appears to be in good condition with 3 baterns and 2 reefing points. All controls are at the mast which has never been an issue for me as you can raise and lower the main very quickly. Reefing is also an easy process and you are able to maintain the shape of the sail well. She is fitted with a roller fuller headsail which works well and is easy to manage in changing conditions. She is still in the water on her morning at Fambridge Yacht Haven. I plan to lift her out over the winter but obviously the new owner can decide, the mooring costs £130 per month with full use of the facilities and winter storage. The yacht haven is a lovely place to sail from. She last had a survey in 2015, which only showed up minor recommendations. All jobs were completed and a copy of the report is available upon request. All in all Ive been very happy with Lazy Haze and as mentioned earlier I’m after a bigger boat for next season as I plan to venture further afield to Holland and France.
