Description
Blaze is currently located in Spain – Mar Manor, (Europes biggest saltwater lagoon), which is also very close to Murcia – San Javier airport. https://www.murciaturistica.es/en/mar_menor/ She is in a well protected yacht club mooring which is very cheap and friendly owners. In my ownership I have sailed the boat throughout the Irish sea, up to the west coast of Scotland down to Falmouth and then to Barcelona last year. This year we cruised around the Balearic islands for 4 months, ( * a days sail away from Mar Menor). In April this year she was hauled out, I pulled her engine out to clean it up and replace the engine bay sound insulation. 2 years ago she was fully stripped and re-varnished in single pack epifanes and every year since she has had two coats applied to keep her in excellent order. She has been a pleasure to own and now she needs to go to another good home, as i’m moving to Australia and thats just a little to far for me to sail her. My partner wont let me ! haha Mechanical Engine Lister Alpha 20hp fitted 1994 Prop 2 Bladed fixed prop on the center line Drive type Shaft Max speed 6.9 Cruising 5.5 Engine cooling, raw seawater through a heat exchanger.Dimensions LOA 9.35m 30’8ft LWL 7.62m 25ft Beam 2.74m 9ft draft 1.37m 4’6ft headroom 6ft in doghouse Sails / RigSobstad mainsail 3 reef points in good condition, sits in a stack pack sail cover with lazy jacks.2x Headsails Jeckles 1x yankee 1x large Genoa, sitting on a furlex roller furling gear. The Dee 25 has not excessive draft with a long keel for good stabilitylimited over-hangs and a generous beam for the period. It is said that the drying mud berth mooring near wherehe lived on the Dee Estuary was an influential factor in the design. The interior rigid ply bulkheads are an integral part of the design and contribute to her strength. She stands upwell to her rig and is remarkably fast.Planking shelf and stringers are selected pitch pine on English Oak, the Deck is Makore faced plywood with teak margin boards. Seams are caulked and splinned above the water line and caulked below the water line. Ballast is all in the Iron ballast keel with 1″ Galv Bolts. She comes with everything that is onboard, and there are other various sails and bits which are in the UK and can be collected by the new owner. There is a Survey report available for anybody who is interested. She is well worth a view, if you are after something ready to go and in the Mediterranean already. If you are interested she could possibly be delivered to another location for the new owner, again get in contact. ** Note – Most of these pictures where taken within the last month on a recent cruise* Any further questions or pictures wanted, please don’t hesitate to contact me :)* Payment will be done, via balance transfer.
