She has been under wraps for some time, the interior is sound but needing attention. The retired owner started to install improved headlining in the main saloon, and fitted a good sized holding tank just forward of the heads compartment. Otherwise her interior is standard 5 berth layout with a full set of new bunk cushions. Here mainsail and mizzen are fully battened and stow between lazyjacks directly into boom covers. Her headsail is on a rotostay for a single hander to furl from the cockpit.

She has been extensively modified over the years, including extensions to her keels with ski-type endplates to enable her to sail closer to the wind, the installation of a new Vetus engine and a feathering propellor, re-positioning the shroud plates (with the builder’s approval) to improve access along the side decks and provide a tighter sheeting angle for the headsail, the fitting of an anchor platform and winch, extensive electronics and a helm pedestal and dashboard to provide a single helmsman with comprehensive information and control systems.

The Vetus M4 engine (2007) which has covered approximately 100 hours will need a service. Two new batteries will also be required. As previously mentioned, the interior needs some attention and a good clean. A couple of weekends hard work could see her ready to take to the water.

This Macwester Wight Mk1 is a 31 feet cruiser with a fixed keel and made of fiberglass. It has a single inboard/outboard engine and operates on diesel fuel. The rigging on this boat is a ketch and it can be used in both fresh water and salt water. With its sturdy construction and reliable engine, this boat is perfect for both experienced and novice sailors. It is ideal for cruising on lakes and oceans, and its bilge keel ensures stability even in rough waters. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to own this beautiful old sailboat.

The boat is priced very competitively for a quick sale. No offers will be considered.  The profits from the sale will be donated to the junior section of the local sailing club
