Please note that this boat is
being listed with a Cardiff Bay, Boat Broker “Cardiff Marina” The
Marine Group so contact Andy Cole on 02920343459 for information or email andy.coles@themarinegroup.co.uk Offers considered. The only reason for selling the boat is that I have bought a power
boat, as love boating so much and this was a fantastic first taste of the water.
Perfect first boat to learn on, as a very very safe and stable
vessel, so if it’s your first taste of boating this is perfect boat for you!
Cardiff bay is perfect for year round safe sailing so not just a
boat for the summer and great value for money
I will take further photos of the instruments, which have been
checked today and all working, but can’t guarantee the accuracy of the
instruments and you will have to make your own mind up, as I have never used
them.
The Cutlass 27 was designed by Eric White of Marcon and Alan Hill,
one of the pioneers of GRP yacht design, who was responsible for a wide range
of successful designs including the Trident 24, Sabre 27 and Moody Halberdier.
The first Cutlass 27s were built in the late 1960s and the boat remained in
production until around the mid-1980s – approximately 200 are believed to have
been built.
The strong, traditional design with a short counter stern and
long, lead encapsulated, fixed centre keel giving a ballast ratio of over 50%
ensures excellent speed and sea-keeping abilities. She carries her sail
exceptionally well in a good breeze, yet remains manageable and can be sailed
single-handed with ease if required.
4 berths. Two berth V fore cabin with hatch, shelves and windows
and roof opening hatch. The saloon incorporates two full single bunks, a galley
with two burner cooker, chart table, storage lockers, A Simrad RD68 fixed
VHF radio (with manual) in the cabin, new loose cloth covers to the original
seat cushions Varnished floors with new carpet and electric lights
in all cabins, as well at sea toilet and hand sink. the boat has two batteries
(I leisure) there is a 3 way plug converter on board, as well as a phone
charger, music radio, a compass as well as a “handheld waterproof Cobra
VHF radio”, which works perfectly and cost £129.00, there is also a
Garmin GPS 128 on there plus operating manual. There is also a marine Navico
TP100 autopilot with tiller control on board which again I have never used, but
told it works perfectly when I bought the boat two years ago. there is a
Clipper Duo and a Clipper GPS on deck, (which I have never used as I use an app
on my personal tablet, which gives me all the information I need when on deck)
There are a number of, upper deck compartments as well as a gas
locker, seat covers and there is also a spare Tiller on board.
With a little investment (maybe a new smaller cooker, curtains and
new seat pad covers to replace the loose covers currently on there,
although for lovers of the original look of the boat, may want to just use the
original pads which are in great condition and no damage or tares) and a bit of
time, this could be the perfect boat for anyone interested in doing some
extended cruising or just searching for a boat that would look after you at sea
with its long keel; she would comfortably cruise with 2/4 people.
I am no petrol head (the boat has never let me down in the two
years I have owned her and starts first time every time) but the instructions
that came with the boat (see attached photos) are for the instruments on board
(although I have not used them, as only sail out in the bay) and engine manual,
which is a Yanma Diesel Marine engine 1GM10 series, (this has been checked and
verified) and a very clean engine, see new photo the boat is fitted with and
electric as well as manual bilge pumps. The boat has a head sail (which
is the only one I use out in the bay) as well as a mainsail (which I have never
use, but was used when I trialled the boat from the last owner) the boat
is also fitted with lazy jacks so can easily be sailed single handed, it
also comes with an anchor with chain, mooring warps and new full
set of fenders which are ready to go on. There are new 4 fenders (not
even out of the packs yet) and a couple already on the boat, I had a new oak
tiller made at the start of the year (there is a spare on there as well) I have
just replaced the bilge pump switch and just fitted a brand new Starter control
panel for the engine (the one on there was fine, but always looking to keep
things improved) so just spent £500 on her this month.
Recently antifouled, new shaft and pear anode’s. new battery, terminal and straps.
All in all – a good looking and robust sailing boat, realistically
priced which would benefit from a few minor improvements (maybe a smaller
cooker/Burner, curtains, new seat covers as the original once are still on
there with no damage or tares, but fitted with loose covers) but a fantastic
solid first sailing boat – but would be sure to pay you back in adventures.
There are additional photos available on request.
Please note that this boat is for sale elsewhere and I reserve the
right to remove this at anytime!!! This boat will be placed with a broker next
week so could be sold at anytime, unless sold over this long weekend and will
update this advert
Please no timewasters (I will not give out any information outside
of Ebay because of scammers sorry) and you must view the boat prior to
purchasing the boat, so do not hit the “buy it now button” prior to
viewing as the funds will be returned!!! (again because of scammers)
Happy bidding and any further questions please do not hesitate to contact
me.
The boat is currently moored in a quieter part of the bay in deep
water on the River, with additional moorings available.
This Boat will not be around for long, as the first to see will
buy and spend many a day sailing the waters of Cardiff bay and the Bristol
channel or further if that is what you have planned.
