This is a
substantial 40ft Gaff Ketch Yacht, Built in 1996 at McBeths yard in Penarth
Sailor with considerable ‘type’ provenance in sailing great distances, Live
aboard, Gaff Sailing vessel with outstanding motor and sailing ability.
Pacific Coast Fisher (PCF40) by Bruce Roberts – featured on website, she is the
only one built out of timber – built for a millionaire ‘blind’ chap who loved
wood and the traditional feel.
planked Iroko on Oak Beams this would cost in excess of 750k to build today,
steel versions are being built to order in Thailand for 275k, one on boatshed
for 118k. Arabella was valued at £65,000
I have owned
her since 2011, and have replaced and renewed anything that required doing, to
sail extensively (never happened due to terminal Illness) I have now purchased
a smaller wooden Yacht
undergone significant refurbishment, including newly laid Decks (2018) – 18mm
Marine ply, sheaved with Glass fibre and textured Gelcoat. I still have teak
for the side decks and Iroko strips for the foredeck if required, but I was
going to use tecdec strips.
saloon roof was replaced in 2014, along with navigation light wiring etc, small
repair area required, which I will do once the weather improves
are new, the Main sail has never been ‘hanked’ on (£2000), Mizen mast and sail New

The Engine is
quite phenomenal – Gardner LXB 6 cylinder which was new on commissioning,
probably less than 500hrs, these currently retail for 10k. very economical
engine which could bash an Atlantic crossing. It is due a seasonal service.

are 1930 Bronze and very unusual, these were stripped, new glass and seals in
2015 and now bronzing nicely.
