DU BLEIZ
Built in 1972 in Brittany and refitted in Lydney, Gloucestershire in 1992.
She is an example of a classic French steel blue water yacht. Originally constructed for two French naval officers who sailed her with their families in an area from Eire to North Africa.
Her previous owner whom has now sadly passed away found “Du Bleiz” laid up ashore in Roscoff in 1989. She then at the time was in poor condition but a survey gave clearance for a delivery trip to the UK. So she was re-rigged and sailed to Lydney to undergo a 3 year major refit.
She was relaunched in 1992 and sailed to the Inner Hebrides, Ireland and Biscay. She has featured in several Festivals of the Sea and one of the few boats to complete the Atlantic Rendezvous 96. She also took part in Rendezvous 98. In 2000 she took part in a Cruising Association Baltic Millennium Rally circumnavigating the Baltic from Keil in Germany, via Poland and Estonia to St. Petersburg in Russia and back via Finland and Sweden. She has also circumnavigated most of Britain.
Sadly due to the poor health and death of the previous owner she has deteriorated to a poor condition again and now in our care for sale. However there is potential! Due to the extensive sailing this boat has done and the previous owners experience and knowledge, she has all the systems you could desire to take her back out to sea. Her Ford 45HP engine is virtually out of the box! One of the last purchases the previous owner made.
She is fully loaded with spec and now needs a new owner who is willing to invest time and money to get her looking smarter and to modernise elements of the boats. The bones of the boat are there she just needs some serious tlc and hopefully she can be brought back to life and be used for more adventures.
