We are selling our much loved 23 ft Newbridge Virgo Voyager bilge keeled sailboat so that we can get something a bit bigger. Anemos has been a brilliant yacht for us to start out in. She is moored in Cardiff Bay.Virgo Voyagers have a very clever layout and a remarkable amount of space for a 23 ft sailboat, and lots of headroom in the saloon (I’m 6’ 2”). This one is from 1982; she has bilge keels with a central stub keel and benefits from a copper-coated hull. She has been set up for short-handed or single-handed sailing, with an in-mast furling main which makes life very easy with everything being done from the cockpit. The buyer will be responsible for moving her on completion of the sale, and for any lifting charges before or after the sale. Thanks for looking and please let me know if you’ve any questions or if you’d like to view.SailsShe has an in-mast furling mainsail which is only a few years old and lightly used.Very large furling genoa; plenty of options for sail size and fair speed in a decent wind.New jib sheets in 2018.EngineYanmar 1GM10, 9 hp inboard diesel which runs very nicely. New water impeller October 2019. Deck and topsides Painted in early 2018, with non-slip paint on the deck. No damage or soft spots on the deck.We fitted netting in summer 2018 for added security with kids onboard.Sprayhood. The previous owner put this on and it’s from a different boat so not quite the right fit, its not brilliant, but does the job. Danforth anchor in anchor locker at bow. Nice new teak tiller made and fitted in autumn 2019.New cockpit engine hatch Jan 2020HullBilge keels with central stub keel and skeg-mounted rudder.Hull has been copper-coated (date of application not known). Electrics and instruments All nav lights working.Cobra DSC VHF radio.Raymarine depth and speed log.Lighting below all works apart from the light in the heads.240V mains hook-up (which we have never used). Autohelm.Domestic/belowTwo ring gimballed gas hob (we have never tested this, it probably needs safety testing. We just used a camping stove).Sink but no tap.Jabsco sea toilet.Retractable chart table.Amazing amount of space.Clever table design: Stows up at the cabin roof when not in use, or lowers to form part of the double berth.Technically can sleep five and plenty of room for four.Stitching has parted over a couple of inches on two of the cushions.Windows are good with no leaks.Jobs and glitchesSome small (<5 mm) superficial blisters were found on the hull when she was last lifted in November 2019. This may be expected in a boat of this age. The hull is sound when knocked around these areas. Some are where an old through-hull fitting once was and may have formed at the edge of the epoxy that was used to fare these areas. See the final photo, just forward of the keel. The sacrificial strip for UV protection on the genoa when it’s furled is a little tired and be renewed in the coming year.
