substantial 40ft Gaff Ketch Yacht, Built in 1996 at McBeths in Penarth

only one built out of timber – built for a millionaire ‘blind’ chap who loved
wood and the traditional feel.
planked Iroko on Oak Beams this would cost in excess of 500k to build today,
steel versions are being built to order in Thailand for 275k, one on boatshed

I have owned
her since 2011, and have replaced and renewed anything that required doing, to
sail extensively (never happened due to terminal Illness) I have now purchased
a smaller wooden Yacht
undergone significant refurbishment, including newly laid Decks (2018) – 18mm
Marine ply, sheaved with Glass fibre and textured Gelcoat. I still have teak
for the side decks and Iroko strips for the foredeck if required, but I was
going to use tec-dec strips.

The Engine is
quite phenomenal – Gardner LXB 6 cylinder which was new on commissioning,
probably less than 500hrs, these currently retail for 10k. very economical
engine which could bash an Atlantic crossing. It is due a seasonal service.
