SUMMARY:
The
boat was bought in 2015 and used for the first time in 2016. She is well looked
after, professionally valeted and antifouled after every sailing season and
stored under cover in a marina boats shed for 8 months a year.
New racing membrane sails (27.72m2: main 16.95m2 & genoa 10.77m2) were bought this season together
with dedicated covers, Harken lazy jacks, Selden Furlex 50s furling system, 8:1
Holt boom kicker and Selden backstay flicker that can be easily removed for
storing mast for winter. Most frequently used shackles were replaced with
Wichard pin-shackles and small various blocks are all Harken or Holt.
Massive
benefit of membrane sails is that they can be safely furled and stored in lazy
jacks without worrying about breaking them. Additionally, they were designed
especially for use with Furlex by sailmakers that race identical Phobos 22
Sport in the Netherlands. Sails are simply stunning. Golden semi-transparent
membrane with dark grey finish gives them distinctive edge! Main has one
reef-band. Sails profile is mind-blowing.
35m2
green asymmetric spinnaker that was used 3 times is also included together with
a sock, that makes shorthanded sailing more manageable. We sailed comfortably
with just the two of us (me – 95kg fattie, and my 50kg better half) in winds of
up to 12 knots with spinnaker, 16 knots with no spinnaker and 21 knots with a
reef and no spinnaker. The boat is really quick if trimmed right – First 21.7
poses no threat 🙂
250kg daggerboard and hull shape ensure fantastic performance and
should nautically satisfy most demanding sailors while still being cruising and
family-friendly if needed 🙂 4 full sized berths (1x double V-berth and 2x
quarter berths) can comfortably sleep 4 adults. 1.5m headroom gives
unbelievably spacious impression. Sleek finish with white, polished GRP mixed
with teak, cream eco-leather and some wood (but not too much!) makes interior
look more in line with modern cruisers, rather than normally not-to-welcoming
racers. There is also plenty of storage room – under every berth plus 4
spacious galley lockers and 2 long shelves above aft quarter-berths.
Still – no electrical nor water installation make the boat very light and
quick.
We
sailed the boat on the Solent since new and she was a blast to sail on.
Retractable daggerboard and rudder allow to sail in shallow waters and enter or
leave harbours, ports and marinas at low tides.
Dedicated
trailer is included and was professionally serviced in April this year.

mid October, when the boat will be taken out of the water, professionally
valeted, antifouled with black (fantastic) Nautix A4T.Speed and put on a

I
could also happily deliver the boat myself anywhere in a radius of 150 miles at
no extra cost. Delivery farther away is naturally possible, but we would need
to discuss it first.
The
reason for selling the boat is that we move north of the country and feel
sailing this beauty on a small lake would be a magnificent waste 🙂
Again
– the boat was owned just by us and we are quite pedantic and passionate about
her looks, performance and condition. Even though she just turned 3 (sailed for
the first time just over 2 ago – in June 2016), people rightfully think it’s a
new boat!
We
bought Torqeedo Travel 1003CL (long) 3HP electric outboard 2 months ago and
could leave it with the boat for additional £1,100.00 (RRP £1,749.00). Outboard
is like new. It is powerful enough to move the boat at 2-3kts against strongest
imaginable Solent spring tide and 20kt head wind. It really is more powerful
than our previous Honda 2.3HP and requires no servicing, oil, petrol, makes
very little noise and is friendly for the environment. Please see more details

Brand
new Hiking/Toe Strap set will be installed before handing the boat over to a
proud new owner.
