This is an opportunity to purchase a rare classic wooden boat. I know of only three others still sailing. She is being sold as a project but requires a relatively small amount of work to finish. She handles very well and once trimmed will almost sail herself. She can be sailed easily single handed and I Have co reed many sea miles on my own. She is to be sold as seen and can be viewed on the hard standing at the Gibralter Point sailing club at any time.Boat name: Tamarina 2Size: 24 FootType: Caravel mkII Sail Number: 51 (144)Build date: 1962Custom made stand included in sale.Tamarina II is a lovely sailing boat but due to my wife illness, I have not been able to maintain her for the last couple of years and so she is in need of some TLC. The hull and deck are in excellent condition requiring little more than paint and antifoul. I have checked the coach roof and removed rot from a few small areas and re-primed the entire roof. However, this will need some work to bring it up to scratch as I was not able to apply topcoat. The inside has suffered from a dose of Skegness mud which I have mostly cleaned out. A previous owner had used vinyl wallpaper for headlining which I have removed in the main cabin. In the forward cabin this is peeling off. Most of the internal woodwork is in sound condition but is delaminating in the galley area. The original Volvo MD1 engine is not in serviceable or repairable condition so I have removed it, (not included in sale). The rudder has been restored and currently stored in my garage and so is in excellent condition. It does however need a new tiller. Both hatches have rotted and been removed and need replacing. There is also a rolling boom which is in excellent condition and stored in the clubhouse. The Genoa and main sail are also in storage and are now quite old but still in excellent condition. Running rigging will probably need replacement. I sailed this boat very traditionally and there is as such no electronics although there is a Raymarine autopilot controller and electronic compass which may or may not be working. There is no cooker and the heads will need servicing. I would recommend checking keel bolts and replacing seacocks prior to launch. Please Note,Tamarina II is currently on the hard standing at the Gibraltar Point sailing club, just outside Skegness. She is in a position to be craned on to a truck at any time until March at the buyers expense. The club is expected to crane boats into the water on the 20th April 2019 at high water (approximately 07:30) and the buyer could collect by truck at this time using the club crane to load.If the buyer wishes to move Tamarina earlier than the club craning in date then they will need to organise their own crane at their expense. The buyer should note that boats cannot be left on the hard standing at Gibralter Point after the craning in date and so Tamarina will need to be removed by sea or road at or by this time. If the buyer wishes to make use of the club crane to load onto a truck then this will need to be co-ordinated in advance. If you wish to make use of the club crane to truck or water then the crane cost is shared by all boat owners and is normally around £50.00.There are guest moorings at the club and these are charged at a daily rate. It would be the responsibility of the buyer to arrange this with the club.Site Address: Gibraltar Point Sailing Club
