Boat reduced*** for quick sail. No sensible offer refused. For sale is my Richard Woods ‘Skua’ cedar strip fibreglassed (super light & strong & durable boat building method best for one off racers not production as too slow & expensive to build) which I purchased about 18 months ago. It is currently in my rear garden as she is demountable so winters she can be trailered home and those odd jobs can be done that you’d otherwise never get round to. Plus she gets to be out of the water and you don’t have to pay for a dry mooring space over winter… simply load onto yard trailers, then hire or buy a tiltbed trailer to get it home (I hired one for a weekend for £80).This boat has the perfect pedigree of being British designed and German build! Look up more details on https://www.sailingcatamarans.com/index.php/designs-2/3-25ft-to-30ft-catamarans-designs/175-skua. Designed to cope with our coastal waters as a larger, heavier built version of a Richard Woods ‘Strider’. The smaller ‘Strider’ Catamaran is very popular but is not as capable at coastal sailing dueto a flat rocker design. The ‘Skua; has more rocker to cope with sailing into swell.I’m selling as making a difficult decision to move to motorboats due to not enough spare time for a sailboat. Plus the Mrs is not so keen as me for the perfomance based platform… Getting wet at 15 to 20 knots downwind, or 12 knots upwind apparently holds no thrills for her, and our dog may well get washed off…whcih is a fair point he does like to hang over the sides watching the water.Don’t need to feel sorry for me as I still have sailing dinghies, paddle boards & surf kayaks I can get my fix on and take onboard the new motorboat! When I purchased the boat she was on the hard and mid way having a new cabin built to fit on the deck under the boom (Design per the Richard Woods as additional plans for these boats). Personally I was not so interested and have not fitted it. This provides a huge increase to her living areas and due to the already massive deck space does not impede her use. In fact with some weather protection afforded from the new cabin it should improve her as a cruising boat drastically. Although she has already crossed the Atlantic & been through the Caribbean with her original builder. This will come with the boat and can be taken on and off as you please but some adaptions to deck boards may be required. So current status is:- Standard boat is demounted with all bits at our home.- This could be rebuilt as it and launched this year now we are allowed to go boating again!- There are 2 sets of rudders with this boat. An upgraded set that are lifting and high performance based. And a set as per the original plans which have a kick up function but require painting and fitting. All parts are there.- There will be lots of small jobs that I am sure need to be done to make her perfect, but the great thing about this boat is you can remove sections which makes them easy to handle & fix them at home. I’ve had the beams in my heated unit where they have been repainted over winter…could not have done that outside.- I have removed forward hatches, repaired, repainted & refitted…Perspex now cleaned, refitted and sealed with Butyl marine sealant.- I purchased an excellent condition Yamaha 10hp High Thrust which is the recommended engine to use on this boat. Fully tested on my fishing boat comes with remotes and electric start – no need for elec tilt as engine bay has it’s own tilting system. This is an extra and not included in the cost of this auction. See below for prices of extras.- Very good condition used Carbon mainsail as the main I purchased for her last year to get the full potential from her (boat was still hitting 16 knots with a poor condition dacron sail).- Has a Genoa, Jib, Storm Sail & large masthead symmetrical spinnaker.- Comes with 50mm black netting to front, fantastic for chilling on and watching the water go by.- Beams removed, checked over, paint touched up where necessary.- Boat sits on 2 yard trailers. These can then be pulled up onto a tilt bed trailer for transport. They can be manoeuvred on their own, or bolted together for transport so possible to use boat as dry sailing kept at Marina.- There are 2 anchors and chain suitable for use on this boat.- There is a large canvas cover that was specifically designed to fit over the central cockpit when moored to give a lovely big living space at anchor or in port.- Interior foam is there for both rear bunks in each hull. new foam required for forward bunks and central pod. Some has been purchased and available from another boat that will need cutting down to shape.- Old bunk covers for foam are there for boat to have new ones made or guess you could refit old ones to begin with. I’ve not taken these out of their bag to look at all.Just like this she would make a great boat. But in addition:- New Cabin shell is complete, bottom painted. A lowering section allowing standing headroom has been constructed to fit but not completed. Exterior needs to be painted as just undercoat apple so far. Interior is bare wood but very nicely made. (You do not need this part to sail this boat this summer)Price stated on this auction is for the boat, hulls, all rigging, masts, cross beams and everything necessary to get the boat in the water sailing. Yard trailers, sails, anchors, lines & blocks, 4 winches, custom canvas cover and shell of new cabin. 2 sets of rudders, one set just needs bolting on, other set needs fairing & painting, then fitting. Also included is the original build plans and receipts for all the materials used. This boat is huge for the money, high performance but designed to be safe so not to capsize, there is a larger racing rig you can get but I just don’t think it would be needed. Nothing else comes close to size or performance at this price. Motivated seller as I want to cleect my new boat and not allowed both in the garden at the same time. It is in Wales so I have a couple of weeks before I can get to it!Boat per others i’ve seen sold reach between 12,000 & 14,000 so this represents a real bargain. With cabin making it useful to families who want a stable safe boat but fast it could make £16,000+ depending what you do with it.Fittings are all solid, far superior to build of a ‘Strider’, nicely made too a credit to it’s builder. Price is not my priority here so I hope a bargain for someone to get lots of joy from. There really is not a lot of work there now, more finishing touches, like with all boats a bit of fiddling to get how you want it and bolting her back together to launch. You can put in silly offers, i’m happy to say no as this boat is already seriously cheap to move it quickly whilst I am not busy at work. But all sensible offers will be considered based on interest in the boat. Serious buyers i’m happy to help with delivery/loading.Extras if wanted:Yamaha low hours & tidy 10hp High Thrust outboard with remotes & elec start £1,000.00LED nav lights, steaming light and tricolour £350.002 x Harken 44 self tailing winches (boat winches are not self tailing) £400.00Simrad 2000 auto helm steering barely used £250.00Viewing recommended.
