Nice example of McAlpine-Downeys sailcraft built Iroquois MK2 30ft catamaran for sale after 15 years of happy memories. Survey completed in April 2020 and hauled out for professional underwater maintenance at teg same time. Currently moored at marina in Cardiff Bay. Recent new Sails include furling Genoa and mainsailWith full battens at the top. Lazy Jacks with Lazy bag professionally cleaned and weather proofed. We initially purchased her for family sailing holidays in the Bristol Channel and West Wales. She was setup as the only Iroquois with centrally inboard diesel. The inboard was replaced by outboards which were then stolen some time ago. She moves easily with a 9.8hp long shaft outboard but we had set her up with two outboards so we could manoeuvre better in the marina at slow speeds. One of the hinged dagger boards has been replaced the other is still original. She has 6 inch fulllength keel which helps when drying out on a rocky bottom and often makes the dagger boards obsolete apart from when sailing to windward in very light winds. Stainless steel rigging was last inspected 4 years ago and at the time the forestay was replaced for a new one. Dagger boards up she draws approx. 18 inches.Roller reefing genoa.Electric sea toilet.Kitchen is well laid out with water through foot pump. No hob installed Small double berths in 2 separate rear cabins with doors.Single berth forward in both hullsTransom hung spade rudders in recently rebuild cassettes We had started to bring her back to life after a few years of losing interest ( post breaking in etc) There was some water ingress on the cabin top handrails and some of the copper stews had corroded giving opportunity for leaks. We removed all these areas sanded down and filled with fibreglass repairs. These now need sanding down before a coat with nonslip deck paint. In general the gel coat is very thin on these boats and this hull is no exception. The fibreglass build is super strong though with woven rovings used everywhere and additional layers in areas of high stress. We have started to replace the flooring internal and One if the floor joists is broken out of the fibreglass. This should be an easy fix before cutting an piece of ply board to replace the current old ply. The windows are still original and although we had plans to replace them with Perspex tinted windows, they are starting to leak in places so we have used mastic where we think the leaks originated and hoped to buy some time before forking out for new ones. They can be refurbished and then reseated in the alloy frames if you like the classic look. In the rear cabins, we installed Vetus escape hatches and in the forwards cabins Gebo port lights are hi h make the interior more bright and airy and in the fore cabins give a nice connection with the water outside. We have painted the fore cabins and are in the process of sticking new felt van liner to the walls in the rear cabins. The stainless steel A-Frame at the back makes the cockpit feel very secure when at sea as an extra barrier and serves as a good place to tie up the inflatable tender whilst under way. The last year and a half has not allowed us to spend the time she needs to bring her back to her usual shine and if you have a bit of time you can without too much additional cost have yourself a swift comfortable catamaran where most of the high cost items have already been replaced. We have approximately 44 photos so please askFor more details and I can send you some. She is currently in the water as you can see from the photos taken last week. The Mooring is paid for until 1st March in Cardiff. All marina fees are paid to date of the listing and there are no outstanding invoices pending. If you want to move her post purchase, we can help with a reasonable delivery over water if required along the Wales coast or south west England/North Devon Bristol Channel. In case of
