Designed by Brown as ‘an exceptionally comfortable cruiser’ with less draft (4ft 3ins),and more beam than was typical of British, though not American, boats of the period. This makes her a stiff boat able to carry her canvass well even in strong winds. The feathering propellor adds about half a knot to boat speed. Previously cruised to the Scilly Isles she has been lightly sailed around the Solent since restoration.Fractional rig. Sails are hanked on and set much better than a furling genoa. The mainsail (Heard and Clatworthy) has slab reefing with three reefing lines. All sails in Egyptian cream. The boat is beautifully balanced and can be set with the auto helm to hold course effortlessly. Going astern requires practice but she can be turned in her own length with a burst of astern mid way through the turn. She carries her canvass very well and never gets in caught in stays. She will also heave to and settle with the tiller held over. The moderate draft is a great asset when looking for quiet anchorages and clearance over bars. Offered for sale in very good condition and only being sold to move to a larger yacht. She is ready to sail away or entered into classic events.Recent survey available.Lying Chichester.
