Cutlass 27 sailing yacht. Much loved family boat with numerous upgrades, used for cruising around UK waters. Unfortunately we have grown out of this boat and need something bigger.Upgrades include:New beta marine inboard engine, with only 20 hours (2017).New cockpit cover (2018) and new sail cover (2018) – not shown on photos.Recently anti-fouled hull; repainted topsides (2018) – see first photo.Rudder removed, re-glassed and bearings changed (2017) New batteries (2017)Previous upgrades include:Upgraded selden mast and boomFully battened main with lazy jacks.Roller furling genoa.Anchor windlass. The decks need repainting and this boat was on hard waiting for me to find the time to do this, but work pressures mean that I’ve missed the opportunity this season. In the end I put her back in the water so that my family and I could enjoy some sailing! Otherwise, this boat has had a lot of TLC and money spent on it in current ownership. Cutlass 27s are great sailing boats and ‘Yachts and Yachting’ review states, “irrespective of the angle of heel or point of sailing, the yacht might as well have been running on rails…altogether sailing a Cutlass was a delight.” Conclusion: “A very pretty boat which sails very well.”More details can be found here: https://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/archives/cutlass-27.htm/marcon-cutlass.htmThe new engine cost over £6k alone and makes for a very safe and reliable boat.Location: Mylor Marina, Truro, CornwallNote: The photo with black anti-fouling is a photo of her prior to launch four weeks ago (2018). New anti-foul and painted topsides, with replaced silver stripe in the rubbing strake. This photo doesn’t show the new cockpit tent and sail cover which are burgundy, to match the UV strip on the genoa.Survey available on request. She was last surveyed in 2013 for insurance purposes and given a clean bill of health. Hull and superstructure sound, etc. Happy to forward a copy of the survey on request.Rudder removed and re-constructed in 2017 by insurers following minor fouling. This was used as an opportunity to renew tiller fixings and rudder bearings. New cutlass bearing installed at time of new engine (2017).I’ve just unearthed the engine receipt and installation, which cost £6,180 in total. A new prop shaft was fabricated and installed at the same time. Happy bidding!
