Parker-Seal 22 sailing boat ‘Kalamaki’: this is the ideal day or weekend sailer, as the lifting keel gives it a very shallow draught for exploring creeks, but it also is renowned for being a fast and safe boat to sail. Ideal for a newcomer to cruisers, the boat comes with a good inventory. The roller-furling jib and main makes it easy to sail. The design of this boat allows the washboards to be removed to provide a large open cockpit area for family sailing, with children being in the open air but safe ‘down below’. Kalamaki comes on a twin-axle trailer, which I towed over 100 miles without problem.As with many older boats, this is a project which although it could be sailed now, will need the instruments refitting, new washboards making and the running rigging overhauling. The topsides would also benefit from a coat of fresh paint, although the hull (gelcoat) and topsides are in excellent condition from a structural viewpoint. A few weekends will see her ready for the water in Spring 2021 or sooner if you wish.The interior is basic, but there is a sea toilet and space for a galley cooker, as well as four berths, two in the forepeak and one each to port and starboard.I am selling because we are moving house and I have given up our mooring at Saltfleet haven.Inventory includes: mainsail No 186; jib sail by Seatech of Emsworth, spray dodgers, mainsail cover, jib sheets, warps, anchor, life jackets, Garmin GPS, NASA depth sounder, VHF radio.I have a Mariner 5hp 4-stroke engine for sale separately if required.
