Up for auction is my 1978 fin keeled Trapper 400, ‘Blue Mist’.The yacht has a Yanmar 1GM10 diesel engine. I have recently checked the condition of the impeller, both fuel filters, hoses and I have replaced a Morse Teleflex cable for the gear box. The gearbox selector lever has been dismantled, cleaned and greased. All rubber hoses were replaced on the engine ~3 years ago. The engine also has a crank handle, so can be started without batteries if needs be. The vessel has had a new propeller within the last ~4-5 years, before my ownership. The yacht has a main sail, in good condition, and 3 hank-on fore sails (No 1, 2 and 3 fore sails). These are in usable, fine condition, however the largest fore sail is a bit dull/dirty. There is a plentiful collection of warps and ropes in the lockers too. The amount of space available in the lockers is brilliant. There are 3 substantial sized lockers in the cockpit, plus the cockpit area is large as well. There are two dual-speed Harken winches in the cockpitThe keel bolts and plates are in good condition (see photos). The hull was last anti-fouled in February 2019.The main sheet traveller track mounting has recently been renovated; I have varnished the mahogany planks and secured to the deck using marine grade stainless steel bolts.On-board equipment:- Standard Horizon ‘Eclipse’ DSC VHF with GPS input- Garmin 72 GPS- FM Radio/CD player with speaker in the cockpit- Stern light aft and side lights in a single, very bright lantern, at the pullpit.- Echo sounder and log (log speed is acquired off a small, hull mounted paddle wheel, but often gets clogged with mud on its current mooring, so I have been using GPS ground speed instead).- 2x ‘Alphaline Plus+’ XV31 MF Deep cycle batteries, 115 amp hour. Both were checked in June this year and the indicator windows were showing green.I have decided to put Blue Mist on eBay because I have not had the time to dedicate to it since I have owned it. I work out of the country and have found that I don’t sail it as much as I would like to. This boat is a decent little day boat or weekend boat. It could do with some cosmetic touching and tidying up (predominantly outside, a tiny bit of lamination by the P-Bracket and in the fore peak cabin), but it sails and motors fine, which is the important thing. The cooler box has detached from its hatch opening, that the previous owner had fitted, but this isn’t a show stopper. It is located on the River Hamble. Please note that the winning bidder will have to move the yacht to a new location, preferably within a week or two. Please only bid or make an offer if you are serious about buying. Thanks for looking!
