For sale is my 1977 Trapper 500. located in Sovereign Harbour Marina, Eastbourne, East Sussex. I purchased Equuleus in June 2016 with a view to learn to sail and spent a lot of money on her with a view to keeping her longer but I am just not getting the time to use her due to work/family commitments.
Listed below are details of the works / upgrades done. She has been sitting for over a year and I go down and run the engine on a monthly basis and the engines starts fine. She is on shore power so the batteries also charge well. She is pretty much ready to sail for the season. I would perhaps recommend an engine service and perhaps antifouling the hull if I was being picky. Also the deck could do with a paint in the near future but all in good order. The boat is very dry with no leaks. I changed the prop shaft and seals in 2017 as the old one was leaking.
I purchased the boat in 2017 for £7000 and spent over £3000 on her in 2017. I currently pay £269 per month to berth her in the inner harbour and fees are paid until the end of May 2019, therefore you could take over the berth on an annual contract or move her to another Marina.
I would suggest you view before bidding and I would be happy to show you around. Arguably the Trappers are nudging to classic status , while she is not in pristine condition she is serviceable, seaworthy and well equipped with the recent 2017 upgrades.
Happy bidding and any questions please ask and I will be happy to answer any queries although I am no sailing expert. I do have the boat advertised elsewhere so I may remove the listing early if I sell her before the end of the auction. Low starting bid, so grab yourself a bargain for the new season.
