One of the boats is 43 ft long and the other was 75 ft, but that has been shortened by cutting the bowsprit in order to save on mooring charges. One is a ferro cement hull in the form of a gaff rigid ketch, My wife and I sailed it back from Miami area, that was fifteen years ago. The other has never been completed, 44ft hull with mast and some rigging, the mainsail is roller reefed into the mast and its stuck, will need some effort to unfurl. There are no other sails with the boat. There is no fitting out although some lights and wiring are present and water is piped to a sink, shower and a sea toilet. This boat has no engine the shaft is present but the propeller is not fitted. The ferro hull will be floating long after I’m pushing up the daisies. The construction was poor but the people spend a lot of money on the fittings. My initial idea was to strip all the good gear and refit it to the steel hull, for example there is a autopilot (cost more than £2000) the generator motor (mitsubishi) and the engine which is a Perkins has done less than 10 hours after rebuild. About four years ago circumstances called a halt, My wife, due to the death of her daughter, suddenly found she had three kids, one of which is severely autistic, she had to go home to Amsterdam. Then I got ill, I had a stroke, I no longer can do the simplest tasks and it not as though I will get better, besides I want to move to Amsterdam. There is a quantity of spares like a sand blaster, mig welder, and other equipment. Both the boats are moored together and on the quayside allowing access 24 hours a day. The moorings are in Penzance harbour, If you have queries please e-mail me, email@example.com. I have lived on board for15 years, this is ideal for somebody seeking a base in the far west country. I am having difficulty loading the pictures, e mail me if you want copies.
