I bought this lovely little 3-4 berth yacht last year with the intention of
teaching my son to sail on the Norfolk Broads, and spent all last winter
refurbishing it. Due to the pandemic, I am in the frame for redundancy so I
am putting the yacht up for sale. She sails really well. She is named Bumble Too, as I am a beekeeper and my wife went a little crazy with the stick-on pictures of bees. These are easily removable :o)Please note, the boat is parked in a marina and will need to be collected by the new owner within 3 days of purchase. I can arrange to have it placed on the trailer for you, ready for road transport. If you wish to keep it at the marina off Barton Broad, you may do so, but there will be a charge by the marina for the ‘rest of the year’, currently (early Sept) about £575 til next April 2021. The clock is ticking on viewings, folks. The summer is waning and opportunities to test-sail are limited by my work so please contact me and let’s arrange something. I will be lifting her out of the water anyway come end of October. If she’s not sold by then, I’ll be parking her at home and waiting til next year.NOTE – PLEASE COME AND VIEW IT BEFORE CLICKING TO BUY. I have tried to auction it but the last chap to bid and win it didn’t view it, didn’t come and pick it up and refused to pay because ‘he hadn’t seen it’. You are BUYING this item if you click on it. Folks, I’ve wasted the last 4 weeks with dreamers and people who don’t read the advert. Please come and view it. It is a lovely boat and fully ready to sail away or be towed away on its trailer. I’ve given up with auctions so it’s now a classified Ad. You basically get a complete package of a boat, all the trimmings and a trailer thrown in.To get all her dimensions etc go and look at sail boat data dot com (without any gaps) and look up the Uffa Foxcub. Uffa Fox was a famous boat designer, particularly for the smaller boat owner (less rich, basically). He designed simple functional boats for ordinary people to sail and learn on.18ft trailer sailer, with standard road trailer. Please note that the trailer in the pics is the trailer that comes with the boat, but I have had it sandblasted, coated and repainted in black. I had to wait til the boat was in the water before I could get this done, hence the pics are of its earlier condition. New plastic wheel arches on the trailer as the metal ones were shot. The winch attached is older, but perfectly functional. Bring your own light-board with numberplateSwing keel 18ft yacht with brand new sails, new upholstery, refurbished mast. NOTE: I’ve had lots of questions about the keel. It’s a swing keel, but not a ‘fin keel’ that you pull up into the cabin space. The keel mount is mounted solidly on the underside of the boat, with the bottom 30 inches of said keel hinged from 6 inches below the hull, raised and lowered by the little hand winch in the cabin, under the companionway. See interior pic facing aft.Under the forward triangle of bunk is the bucket toilet. Lift this out, and you’ll see all the expanding foam which fills the nose and also to the rear, under the cockpit floor, making the boat allegedly unsinkable. I’ve never tested this, nor wanted to.Storage. There are two large storage lockers one each side under the seats in the cockpit, roughly ten inches wide, 18 inches deep, and about 3 ft long. There are two large storage spaces on both port and starboard sides under the bunks with plenty of space for victuals and equipment etc. for a weekend (or longer) away.New roller reefer system, new rolling genoa foresail. New fully battened mainsail with reefs by Jeckells Sailmakers of Wroxham (Total receipt cost ca £1500). New sheets all round, new cars, pulleys etc.New interior upholstery by Jeckells (Upholsterers) – receipt for ca. £900Deck repainted, new anti-fouling underneath, all the bilges and underseat spaces repainted. Original toilet (bucket) still in place up forrard.New perspex windows and rubbers professionally fitted. Brand new (very expensive) forward lockable hatch with friction hinge (receipt for £450). Mast stripped, pulleys greased and reassembled and the mast repainted. New fenders (4), lots of new spare lines including replacement halyards. The existing ones are fine, but I bought new ones anyway.I have removed the wire safety rails on both sides as they were a) rusty and horrible (thrown away) and b) restricted access to the foredeck. The stanchions and fixings are still present should you wish to replace them with new wires.Road trailer fully refurbished (last pic). Winch works fine but is old. Trailer is not braked.Outboard – 4hp Mariner 2-stroke, working fine, serviced last Spring (valued at ca. £350).Boat is moored near Stalham, Norfolk, just near Barton Broad. Please contact me to arrange a viewing.
