Stenella is a beautiful long Keeled Sloop rigged Wooden Yacht.Built in Poland by the famous Jachtowa boat yard in 1966.Designed by Langer & Michalski on the lines of the Nicholson 38.Commissioned by the original owner and we are only the second owners.32 HP Volvo fitted in 1978, raw water cooled.12 volt electric lighting and bilge pump.VHF radioDepth sounderTiller Auto helmCQR anchor with 30 fathoms chain.6 berthsSea toilet.Various well used but serviceable sails.Roller main reefing.We have owned Stenella for eight years, lived on her for three and have enjoyed every moment, well maybe not all the sanding and painting !We also taught ourselves how to sail on this boat, so don’t let her size put you off !She now needs another caring owner as there are a few jobs to do, mainly on the top sides.The work required does not impede her ability to sail and could be done by a skilled diy’ er (deck caulking, small carpentry jobs)In 2010 we had a survey which was clear of any major work, over the next eight years we have done the following work.Replaced top starboard oak spreader.2017Replaced oak mast step.2017Replaced rudder pintal and bronze bushes.2010Replaced 50% of oak rudder.2010Replaced all skin fittings and sea cocks.2010Replaced prop shaft 2010Replaced teak toe rail cappings 2013Replaced parts toe rail in teak 2013This year 2018 , we have checked all rudder mountings, bushes, and oak.Antifouled hull and painted above waterline.Stenella is not a modern yacht, in fact she has not changed much over the last 52 years !So please understand there are no mod cons , like running water, heating, radar, navigation aids ect.This boat has to be sailed , but in return she will look after you in any weather, and is sea kindly.At present Stenella is moored on a swinging mooring on the West coast of Scotland.We would be happy to sail her anywhere in the UK for the new owners, for a small fee.Sorry about the dates on the photos, but none are older than 2010, the fifth photo is 2016/17, the last photo was taken in 2014 bringing her from Milford Haven to the West coast of Scotland.
