For sale is my wee West Wight Potter 14. Unfortunately she has not seen much action since I bought her almost two years ago. I registered her to sail on Loch Lomond in 2017 and managed to get out only three times and because of this as I’m not using it, I feel it is time to sell. She is as you see her in the photos as I had bought her apart from having put new wheels and tyres on the trailer and a small timber rubbing strake in place of the cable tied rope. Good points:This boat is all about being small and manageable and can be launched and sailed single handed. There are two mainsails (one used, one new) and one roller reefed jib. The metal swing keel allows beaching. Two berth cabin. Stern locker. Outboard bracket.Bad points:The white paint on the hull is a bit chalky. The previous owner may have just tarted it up with whatever. That’s it.The outboard shown is not part of the sale. I will be selling it at a later date. It is a Suzuki 4hp 4 stroke, out of interest.Bear in mind, this is a 30+ year old boat so please don’t expect it to other than it is. Those who know and have read up on West Wight Potters, know them to have good seakeeping qualities due to the upsweep of the stern and bow. It is a tough wee boat and has been described as dinghy with a lid. I’ll be sad to see her go, but it will be better than sitting in my drive waiting for the right moment.
