The Westerly
Centaur is a firm favourite for cruising thanks to its moderate
draft and ability to take the ground, good accommodation, and easily managed
nature. ‘Impulse’ is a good example of one of the last Centaurs built, with a
modern engine and unusually well-presented below decks she represents excellent
value and although in need of some upgrading it will make an excellent basis
for someone looking to go cruising on a modest budget! Only being sold as I have had ongoing physical health problem, a 04/2023 survey is available on request.Westerly Centaur yard no. 2413 built in approx.
1980 by Westerly Marine Construction to a design by Laurent Giles. White GRP
hull, superstructure, and decks with blue-painted non-slip surfaces. Teak
rubbing strakes. Twin cast iron keels. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Aft
self-draining cockpit. I have loved this Westerly, I sailed her from Lowestoft to Chichester, part of the journey, I was caught in 30 MPH winds gusting. Impulse is a very capable & safe vessel, she has looked after me & I have looked after her, it will be sad to let her go!!
