Very good example of a Westerly Centaur 26 ft twin keelThis is the later version with square front windows, stronger side shroud attachments and more efficient spade rudder. She is sail number 1577 of >2500 made making her one of the most successful British boats ever made.We use her regularly in Chichester Harbour and the Solent and everything works well and she is very simple to sail or drive under power even single handedly.The Roller reefing Genoa is very easy to furl and unfurl and she sails well under Genoa alone in a blow.She only draw 3 feet and so is perfect for exploring the many beautiful creeks of the south coast. She also sits very comfortably on a half tide/drying mooring which allows access for several hours either side of high tide for only £460 per year in chichester harbour – I have enquired and moorings are still available at this price.She has had stainless steel keel bolts put in place with supportive steel around them as seen in the last photo. The keels are dry as is the cabin. The hull Is completely solid and dry and has had no damage.The Mast and boom are in good condition.She had new Standing and running rigging in 2017 along with a new main sail which has 3 slab reefing levels ,is fully battened and is still nice and "scrunchy"The Roller reefing Genoa has a good shape.She was completely rewired in 2018 and has had a solar panel professionally embedded on the coach roof to keep the batteries charged.She had a new diesel tank put in place in 2017.She has NASA Depth and log and diesel fuel gauge along with a VHF radio and navigation and cabin lights that work.She has a fantastic Volvo MD11c Engine which has been annually professionally maintained and is 100% reliable. She starts first time every time and runs nice and cool whilst in drive for hours even against wind and chop.The Engine pumps out plenty of water. The gear box works well, the drive engages smoothly and runs quietly.On 25th March the hull was snubbed, powerhosed and then anti fouled.The rudder and tiller have good bearings and the self draining cockpit works wellInternally all the windows are clear and dry and all the cusions are in good condition.The gimbled 2 burner gas cooker works well. This is the " B " layout of the centaur which is very popular and allows to sleep up to 6!A modification has been added to the portside sofa to allow another piece of wood and cushion to be attached which forms a comfortable double bed in the cabin.There is a pump toilet that works in a separate heads room with a door that allows for privacy and also creates 2 separate cabins. There is a great deal of storage space on board, incluing a built in cool box and space for cutlery crockery and food above the "butler" style sink.Any trial and inspection is welcome and we are open to near offers.We would be happy to consider sailing her round to her new destination.Please email or ring James or Angela for further questions
