Windscreamer, a 26ft 1975 Westerly Centaur Yacht (No.1164). Affectionately known as ‘Windy’, she is currently on the hard standing at Bradwell Marina, taken out of the water in May 2019 for anti-fouling maintenance, sadly, Dad passed away on 5 June and never got to carry out the maintenance he so loved to do.Dad purchased Windscreamer around 1992, from the previous owner who had the keels removed in 1987 and the fibreglass reinforced around them, then refixed to the boat, as a method of futureproofing. The twin cylinder Volvo diesel engine was new when previous owners purchased in 1987 and had been regularly services by previous owners, and also Dad while Windy was in his charge. Dad always said what a wonderful engine it was. Previous records refer to: at cruising speed of 2,000 RPM and 5 knots, there’s a bout 3 hours running on one gallon of diesel. The layout is quite spacious for a 26ft boat, there is an infill for the forward cabin so as to make a double berth, the table can be lowered to form another double berth there are also 2 full size quarter berths. We have the original paperwork including the Certificate of British Registry and Particulars of Ship.Dad’s failing health in his final years meant that he was unable to take her out, and instead used to visit regularly and just spend time afloat on the marina berth, having cups of tea and soaking up the atmosphere, and so she is in need of a clean. Her viewing is recommended (at Bradwell Marina) and although the battery is flat, I’m not aware of any issues with her, but due to the need for TLC and cleaning, she is being sold as a project. Cabins and engine keys available.Collection only from Bradwell Marina, Waterside, Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex CM0 7RB.**Viewings available on request for serious buyers**
