Westerly Renown 31′ Sloop.
Fin keel. 4.5′ draft.
Six berth. (2X forward cabin, 2X main cabin, 2X aft cabin.)
Moored Saltash, Cornwall. Upstream from Plymouth. (River Tamar.)
I am offering her for sale at this ridiculous price ONLY because I care for my father (my Admiral) and need to release myself from the responsibility of caring also for my yacht.
Viewing can be arranged for October 26/27/29
First come first served.
If she doesn’t sell in this time frame she will remain with me and be lifted out for the winter.
New mast, boom, standing rig 2020.
Hull blasted and re-gelcoated 2019.
Wheel and rudder gear serviced 2019.
New Stainless Steel keel bolts 2019.
Roller reefing genoa in excellent condition.
Slightly undersized mainsail which provides a better balanced rig without weather helm.
New running rig 2020. (Main sheet 2023.)
Plenty of fenders, warps etc.
Delta anchor, 150ft chain.
Volvo MD2 inboard engine not yet fully installed. (200 litres Diesel in tanks ready and treated with anti bio, tanks full.)
It is on the aft mountings, connected to fuel, exhaust, prop shaft, seawater inlet. Not yet connected to 12v, and the forward mountings. (I thought the fit would be identical to the previous MD2B engine however the bolts won’t go through so adjustment is required.)
15hp Mariner outboard with remotes. I have been using this before completing work on the inboard and infact find it less hassle.
Additional bracket for auxiliary.
New blakes seacock installed on heads outlet, ready for use. Camping toilet in place.
Electric and manual bilge pumps.
Wiring functional with solar charge and multiple USB/12 V outlets.
I utilise as is with no issues, however I would recommend a full inspection/overhaul.
2X110ah leisure batteries plus one 90ah.
Separate battery for outboard in aft cabin.
Led lighting in cabins.
Nav lights run on internal batteries.
I utilise a tablet with C-Map for navigation, log, and AIS. It’s better in my humble opinion. Constantly updated maps, and less installed equipment to maintain.
She does have an unused radar antenna installed on the mast with through cables into the main cabin.
DAB usb chargeable radio.
Also a stereo radio which is Bluetooth and can also play your music from usb stick or SD card.
Roof lining has seen better days. (Standard.)
Sinks with manual pump taps in heads/shower room and galley.
Cooker has two hobs, grill, oven.
Converted to camping gaz. (Full cylinder.)
I’m utilising a small fold up table at the moment to maximise space in the saloon, however I do also have the original Westerly built table currently in my garage.
The mooring is in a picturesque spot on the corner of the river Lhyner.
I see no reason why Saltash Sailing club would not let you take it over. (£78 per month.)
The swing moorings are not year round. Come the end of October she can either be moved to a fore and aft mooring for the winter, or as I recommend, lifted out.
She currently has a lift out booked on October 30th at Treluggan Boatyard. (Up the river Lhyner, about 1hr 15 mins from the mooring.)
If a purchase is completed I am happy to take the helm, you, and Kenevara to lift out on that day. Booked for 17.00.
Kenevara has spent the last two winters there. Excellent staff, and the best value in the Plymouth area.
If you wish to utilise that booking I will put you in touch with them and change it to your name.
I sailed her mainly single handed in my delivery trip from Fleetwood, Lancs in 2020.
She’ll sail anywhere. Tomorrow.
They are valued when fully kitted out at around £17,000. (I’m not putting Kenevara in that bracket. Information purposes.)
Currently valued with insurance at £10,000.
The cabin photos aren’t excellent sorry. Could have done with a tidy up.
She’s a very loved and lived in yacht.
(Not liveaboard, but long cruises when possible.)
